Title Why Jesus Came

Contents

Hymn: 135 chapters (133 chapters) 'Yesterday or today'

Meditation: Jesus came to Bethlehem in Judea in a human body, conceived by the Holy Spirit by the Virgin Mary. Today's text explains why Jesus came into this world.

Text: “You will give birth to a son, and you will call him Jesus… and you will call his name Immanuel, which is translated, ‘God with us’” (Matthew 1:21-23).

The first reason Jesus came into this world was to save His people from their sins (21). The meaning of the name 'Jesus' is "the one who will save his people from their sins." Then who are his people, the people of Jesus? Jesus' people are the people chosen by God to be saved before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:3-14).

The true salvation of Christianity is salvation from sin. The fundamental problem of man is the problem of sin. Jesus came to solve our sin problem. And he saved us by paying the price for our sins on the cross. Now, if you believe in this fact, the problem of sin will be solved, you will receive salvation, and you will enjoy true freedom and happiness.

Second, He came to fulfill the prophecy (22). The Bible is a book of prophecy. The birth of Jesus Christ was foretold long ago through various prophets. The prophet Isaiah in the Old Testament prophesied about the birth of Jesus 700 years before the birth of Jesus (Isaiah 7:14). Therefore, the birth of Jesus by a virgin was not an accident, but a reality through God's special plan.

Third, Jesus came to be with us (23). The greatest blessing God has given to mankind is Emmanuel. In fact, God created humans to live with us. However, when man sinned, his relationship with God was cut off. The God of love came to this world in a human body to restore this broken relationship. You came to live with us. If you accept Jesus into your heart, He will be with you forever.

Prayer: Loving God, thank you for coming into this world in human flesh to save us from our sins and be with us forever. Now we believe that the Holy Spirit is with us. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
