Old Testament
14. The LORD is my strength and my praise; he is my salvation.
15. In the tents of the righteous there is a voice of joy, a voice of salvation; the right hand of the LORD gives power;
16. The right hand of the LORD is lifted up high; the right hand of the LORD gives power.
17. I will not die, but live and declare the works of the LORD.
18. The LORD rebuked me severely, but he did not deliver me to death.
19. Open to me the gates of righteousness, and I will enter there and give thanks to the LORD.
20. This is the gate of the LORD; the righteous will enter it.
21. I will give thanks to you, for you have answered me and become my salvation.
22. The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone of the house.
23. This is what the LORD has done, and it is marvelous in our eyes.
24. This day is ordained by the LORD; in it we will rejoice and rejoice.
new testament
1. When the Sabbath was over, and at dawn on the first day after the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.
2. There was a great earthquake, and an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and rolled down the stone and sat on it.
3. His form was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
4. The guards were afraid of him and trembled and became like dead men.
5. The angel spoke to the women and said, "Do not be afraid, I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
6. He is not here, but has risen, just as he said. Come and see where he lay.
7. Go quickly and say to his disciples, "He has risen from the dead, and he is going before you into Galilee, and there you will see him." Behold, I have told you.
8. The women quickly left the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell the disciples.
9. When Jesus met them, he said to them, “Is it all right?” Then the women came and took hold of his feet and worshiped him.
10. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there you will see me."
sermon
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were going to see the tomb of Jesus. Their hearts were lonely and lonely. Because Jesus, whom we respected, loved, and followed, died. This was because they were hated by the religious leaders, captured, handed over to Roman soldiers, and crucified. Perhaps they were afraid that they might even slander those who followed Jesus, but the two women took the spices for the body of Jesus and went to the tomb.
Perhaps they stopped and thought on their way. “What good is it to do this?” “Let’s go back. No one cares, no one can open the stone door...” “Philip will be the leader.” However, if they had given up halfway and went back, they would not have experienced the miracle that God would show them.
There are hurdles in the Lord's work we do. There are times when difficulties get in the way, you lose your strength, and you feel like you should quit now. But God is watching. God is preparing something to surprise us. God sees our sincere hearts approaching the Lord and is pleased with them. When we do good, we will reap in due time if we do not lose heart.
When the two Marys arrive at the tomb, they witness a surprising sight. Angels appeared, rolled down the stone door of Jesus' tomb, and sat on it, clothed in a dazzling white robe. Why did God open the tomb door? If the door is closed, can't Jesus come out? Did the one who overcame the power of death not have the strength to roll the stone? There is no word in the Bible that an angel rolled a stone for Jesus.
Then for whom was the stone door opened? The stone gate is not for the Lord, but for the people. It was opened to let them in.
Verses 5-6 “The angel spoke to the women, saying, ‘Do not be afraid… He is not here, but has risen, just as he said, come and see the place where he lay.”
God opens the stone door that is blocked in our lives today. Let the stone of doubt roll away and the door of certainty will be opened. The stone of sighs and sighs is rolled away, and new doors of joy are opened. He rolls away the stones of death and despair and opens the door to new life and hope. On this day when the Lord was resurrected, I pray that the miracle of resurrection will happen again in the lives of the saints.
