What does rebirth mean?
Regeneration refers to the change of heart and attributes that a person has when he or she becomes a true Christian. Therefore, the regenerated person is newly transformed into the image of God and the character of Christ. Then why do we need to be born again? For the unregenerate state is under sin, death, and judgment.
1. How do you become born again?
Continuing, the Lord teaches Nicodemus, using the example of the 'brass serpent hanging on a pole' in Numbers 21:9 that one cannot be born again except through the Holy Spirit.
In other words, being born again is not achieved through human effort and merit, but only through water and the Holy Spirit. Just as those who died in the wrath of God looked at the bronze serpent and lived, when they believe in the Lord who was crucified and look at Him. You will be born again, and you will have eternal life.
2. What is looking at?
To look at the brass snake, there is only one glimmer of hope. Seeing the only hope, the only grace of God. It means that no human can be saved by any means, and only God can save us. It means that the only way of salvation, the way of being born again, the only way for mankind to be saved is through Jesus Christ coming to this earth, bearing the burden of sin, being cursed, and being judged and redeemed.
3. What do you believe?
Paul says in Romans 3:24, “Being justified freely by the grace of God through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.”
It is not that we are righteous before God, but that God has declared us righteous. To those who did not deserve salvation, or to those who deserved the wrath of God, He freed them from the wrath of God and saved them from the wrath of grace. No longer are they unrighteous before God, but He acknowledges them as righteous.
4. What is the evidence of being born again?
The Lord is asking you for that mark. If so, what is the table? Unbelievers live in darkness in God's condemnation and judgment, but believers (those who are born again) follow the truth and come out into the light. For the believers know that all these deeds they have done are from God.
In other words, all born-again people are destined to follow Jesus Christ. This is what Nicodemus and Paul realized, and they each prove it through their lives.
As a Jewish teacher, Nicodemus, who was trying to achieve salvation by keeping the law, met the Lord, knew the way of salvation, and received Jesus Christ as the true savior. And that acceptance is proven through his life.
No one can enter heaven without being born again.
Not only do we believe that Jesus Christ is our only Savior, we will have to fight sin more than ever before, and strive to make His character ours. Don't love the world, don't be carried away by it, love God and try to show God's love to people through your body.
