Title Without a dream, you will perish

Subject: If you don't have a dream, you will perish.
Text: Proverbs 29:18
The Bible says, 'A people without a dream will perish'.
There are people who have read the Bible quite a bit about this and say, "No, Pastor. Where the hell is such a word in the Bible? No matter how much I read the Bible, I couldn't find such a word at all."
Of course, there is no word in the Korean Bible that says 'a people without a dream will perish'. However, in the King James Version of the English Bible, it is clearly written:
“Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18), that is, “a people without a dream perish!”
Everyone! Why would you perish without a dream? Think about it.
A person who does not have a dream for the future makes no effort and is intoxicated with the pleasures of the flesh that only stimulate the peripheral nerves, and will not be able to act arbitrarily and eventually perish?
And imagine that you don't have a dream.
If a damned naughty husband (wife), prodigal children, or someone who annoys me gets worse as it goes on, and it hurts me more, and if the problem gets more twisted rather than solved, and the disease gets a little worse, If there is, I die, and we lose hope to live.
In other words, the reason we live is because we still have dreams.
We can rejoice because we have a dream that the problem that is tormenting me now, that person will change soon, and that the disease will be cured and soon become healthy, so we can be happy because we have such a dream.
On the other hand, why do so many people commit suicide when people in Europe's most prosperous countries have enough to eat, drink and wear?
Why the hell would they have to kill themselves?
They obviously have more than others, live better than others, and enjoy more than others, so why should they choose such a path of tragedy?
No other reason. It is because they have lost the brilliant dream of tomorrow, which is essential for human beings.
There is a saying, 'Those who have worm's eyes will perish, but those with bird's eyes will prosper'. In other words, if you can't look forward like a worm and you don't have a dream and a vision, you will eventually get frustrated and fail.
However, if you have a dream and vision of the future that looks far like a bird, you will gain courage and strength to live in the most difficult environment, and eventually overcome all difficulties and prosper.
However, fallen humans, rather than having brilliant dreams and visions for tomorrow, are always caught up in negative, destructive, and resentful thoughts, giving up their brilliant dreams for tomorrow and making the big mistake of abandoning those dreams by themselves.
And in the end, it not only destroys itself, but also causes bitter despair and frustration in the hearts of family members, and turns society into a dark hell.
God has promised to pour out the Holy Spirit on us because we feel so sorry for people who have lost their dreams and visions of tomorrow and are going down the dark path of hell.
And when Jesus was crucified and died, the resurrected Jesus appeared to the disciples who were wandering in despair and despair, and said sadly. '
Receive the Holy Spirit' (John 20:22) When the Holy Spirit promised by God comes, those who do not have dreams and visions, and those who have lost hope and are caught up in frustration, despair, and sighing, can have brilliant dreams for tomorrow. is.
Also, the Bible says:
“In the last days, says God, I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your children will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams” (Acts 2:17)
In other words, those who are filled with the Holy Spirit always have hopeful dreams for the future, talk about them, and pray to God to make those dreams come true.
However, since people without the Holy Spirit have no dreams and visions, they are always negative and destructive, and there is neither joy nor happiness from God.
Everyone! What do you think of our God? Are you a destructive, hopeless God? Or is he a hopeful, creative, dreamy God?
Keep that in mind.
The God we serve is the God of dreams with brilliant and brilliant dreams for tomorrow. He is the God of vision.
And God wants humans created in His image to have dreams and visions like God. And God wants to have conversations with people of dreams and visions like Himself, and He is pleased to work with such people. And God is giving great blessings to those who have such dreams.
Look at Abraham.
He had no children until he was 75 years old.
His wife, Sarah, also turned 65, and as a human being, she had no hope or dream of having children. But God gave Abraham a dream.
'Abraham. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, and you will be a blessing” (Genesis 12:22).
At the age of 75, Abraham was able to leave his beloved hometown and emigrate to an unfamiliar country where danger lurks because he had a brilliant dream from God.
Sometimes drought and famine approached, and when the environment became so difficult that he became frustrated and tried to give up his God-given dream, God called him back.
‘Abraham, look up to the sky and count the stars. So shall your descendants be.' (Genesis 15:5) 'Lift up your eyes and look from where you are, east, west, north and south. I will give to you and to your descendants the land that you see, and it will last forever” (Genesis 13:14-15).
Everyone! God never wants us to give up on our dreams. Giving up on the dream God has given is ultimately abandoning the God of dreams and disappointing God.
Therefore, no matter what difficulties come our way, we must keep dreaming. We must continue to look at the vision God has given us and cry out. And today, you and I must do our best to make that dream come true.
God came back to Abraham, who was unable to fulfill his dream because of human limitations, and changed his name altogether.
'Abraham. From now on, your name will not be called Abram, but will be called Abraham, because I have made you the father of a multitude of nations” (Genesis 17:5).
And God speaks to Abraham. 'Abraham. Your wife Sarai shall not call her name Sarai, but her name shall be Sarah. I will bless him, and he will bear you a son, and I will bless him, and he will be the head of the nations” (Genesis 17:15-16).
Everyone! He gave Abraham a dream and hope, and God’s zeal to make that dream come true is so great and persistent. In the end, 25 years later, God gave Isaac, the son of a dream, to Abraham when he was 100 years old and his wife Sarah was 90 years old. He works miracles.
Take the case of Jacob.
While working as a shepherd at his maternal uncle Laban's house, he makes a promise with his maternal uncle that he will own the newly born speckled, spotted, and long livestock.
Then, the bark of willows, apricots, radishes, and cinnamon trees is peeled to make a mottled pattern, and the livestock is placed in the nesting area to look at them.
Then the cattle that looked at it gave birth to speckled, speckled, and scaly ones, and Jacob became very rich at last.
In other words, if you look with a dream, God will work for both the animals and the environment to make that dream come true.
Because God is the God of dreams.
After all, this world is developed by people with dreams.
Just as the Wright brothers invented the airplane because they had a dream that 'people can fly', dreams not only change their destiny but also the world.
Everyone! Why did you come to our church? Of course, it must have been sent by God.
But why did God make us come to our church out of many churches?
No other reason.
Because this is a church with dreams.
If there is no dream here, how can we say that this is the church of God?
How can I say that I am a servant of God if I do not have a dream?
If you don't have a dream, how can you say that you are a child of God?
But we have bright dreams.
In my short life, I have a brilliant dream of spreading the gospel and world mission that God is pleased no matter what.
There is prayer to make that dream come true, there is zeal, there is loyalty, there is devotion and tearful sacrifice.
Of course, we too may have many shortcomings and personality flaws.
However, what we can boldly proclaim to the world is that we have a dream God has given us.
And that dream is not a selfish dream that is vain and fulfills only one's own desires, but is God's dream to make all mankind happy.
Once upon a time, American Pastor Martin Luther King gave a speech saying 'I have a dream'.
He was a person who never lost his dream in the difficult circumstances of that time and worked hard and risked his life to achieve it.
Although he died of a gunshot wound at a young age, Americans honor his spirit by making his birthday, January 15, a national holiday.
Everyone! What made him value him so highly?
Only one thing. Because he was a dreamer. And because he instilled dreams in Americans.
Everyone! I want to ask.
Are you a person of dreams and visions? Or are you a wanderer without dreams and visions? Are your homes, churches, and societies overflowing with hopes and dreams because of you? Or is it only frustration, murmuring, and lamentation?
If you are a person of dreams and visions, then your future is definitely success.
And happiness. And God helps people who have dreams like you, and through people who have dreams like you, He makes the kingdom of God come true.
Therefore everyone! please. Have a dream that God gives you.
Open your mouth as wide as possible. And if anyone asks, tell me I have a dream. And tell them that our family and our church have dreams.
Even though there is nothing to see, nothing to grasp, or nothing to hear right now, look to the God who has given you dreams until the end.
God is still looking for people with dreams like himself. And today, he says 'I am here' to those who have that dream, and he is still working today as Immanuel God and God with us in order to make their dreams come true.
