Sermons for Preaching

Title Witnesses Say

Contents

Hebrews 12:1-2 Witnesses say:

With such an innocent and kind heart, we received the Word of God in 2010 as well. If I counted the Sunday sermons, Wednesday sermons, and all-night sermons for 52 weeks a year, it is about 52×3=156 times. I don't know how many times you attended the service during the 156 times. Next year, we plan to distribute worship attendance sheets to each individual. The total of Wednesday worship, all-night worship, and Sunday worship is 156. Each person checks, adds up at the end of the year, and puts it in the donation box to give a meaningful prize.

The word 'witness' is none other than that. Those of you who attended the all-night service will know, but what is the subject of the expository sermon on the Book of Acts in one word? It is a 'witness'. We are here to witness in Calgary. Making money is probably one of the reasons I came here. That's why I came to study. It could also be the reason you came to escape. But the biggest reason God sent me here is to be a witness here too.

We obeyed God's Word and tried to be witnesses. Wherever there were Koreans, I told people I met to come to church. It feels like we started a little late, but we continue to commit ourselves to be witnesses, to pray, and to keep practicing. We have many such witnesses. In today's text, we see that there are numerous witnesses surrounding us like a cloud. The Witnesses are encouraging and promising each other to do this in order to fulfill their mission well.

1. Let's take off the heavy thing.

Life is often compared to a running race. Paul compares the life of a witness who preaches the gospel to running. The judge is God, and the participants are all believers in Jesus. God, the judge, said, "Yo-Earth!" and fired a flare. Don't hesitate, don't look at others, start as soon as possible, keep running, and if possible, finish first and wear a crown with a gold medal.

However, it is not possible for a participant to run well with shoes, tie, suit, and bag. To run well, you need to be as light as possible. Light sneakers, light sportswear, long hair and even fur should be pushed. Because if it's heavy, you won't be able to jump that much. Witnesses who participated in the evangelism match had to put off heavy things in order to get good grades.

Guys, what is heavy in foreign land? Studying is still heavy? Gyeonggi-do is not very good, but is it heavy to eat and live? Are your relationships with people complicated and heavy with conflicts? If my heart is heavy, I can't run properly. You cannot be a witness. Because the Lord said that the Lord will take care of your hard work and heavy burdens, you must leave it and run.

Where do runners run with heavy things on their backs? You should also leave your wallet with the coach. You have to put money in it. You must leave your wigs and cosmetics as well. A number of issues have to be entrusted to you. The Bible exhorts us to “be anxious about nothing” (Philippians 4:6) and “cast all your anxieties on the Lord” (1 Peter 5:7). I wish you all the best.

2. Let's cast off the sins that easily entangle us.

When I was in the army, there was a battalion skate competition in the division. I was a player, coach and manager. That said, I was pretty good at skating. But trusting only my skills, I drank until late in the night the night before the match and only entered the barracks at dawn. And in the morning, I went to the game, and strangely, my heart was willing, but my body was not listening. It was because he drank and rolled his body recklessly until the night before the match.

In the end, the skating competition was not won because of me. I was terribly scolded by the battalion commander. For a while, I had to get the eyes of the battalions. In other words, because they cannot control their body and time, they will only miss the victory. Everyone, if you drink until late on Saturday, it will be difficult to come to church the next day. Even if you date a computer until late on Saturday, you will be tired the next day and it will be difficult to come to church. We must not be bound by the sins that are easily entangled. He doesn't even go to church, and after falling into sin, he immediately says, "Hohoho, believe in Jesus. Come to church." and cannot be a witness. I pray that you will firmly cut off the sins of not being a witness.

3. Be patient to the end.

No matter how well a runner runs in the beginning, if he does not break the final tape, he will not be able to rank and be eliminated. No matter how well you believed in Jesus in the past, if you betray Jesus today, you will become Judas Iscariot. The beginning is important, but the end is more important. No matter how well a married couple lived during their newlyweds, it is better to see a reconciliation and reconciliation afterward, even if they had a bloody nosebleed at first, than to do this and that bastard later. To do that, you must have patience.

Good fruit comes from perseverance. There are verses that touched me as I read the Bible. This is John 19:30. "After receiving the sour wine, Jesus said, "It is finished." He bowed his head and died. Jesus ran all the way to the end. He endured the pain of the cross well. He saved the thief on the right until the moment he was thirsty and was out of breath. And you cried. "It's done."

We too must carry out our mission of witness here in Calgary. Like Jesus, we too, “Lord, it is finished.” And you have to be patient and persevere until confession comes out. We wrote this down in our study room when we were students. "Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet." The Bible also speaks. "Persevere in patience, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in anything." I wish you the best of luck in completing the road with patience to the end.

4. Let's look to Jesus.

The drinker always looks only at the bar. The gambler only looks at gambling. People who study always look at books. But the student who doesn't study looks only at her or her brother. I only look at computer games, computer chats, or erotic sites. Who should we Witnesses look to? It says in verse 2. “Let us look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.”

Everyone, let's look to Jesus. He endured the cross. You were put to shame, but you didn't mind the shame. Are you still dragged by guilt? Look to Jesus. His cross has already washed away our sins. Do you still not believe in God's love? Look to Jesus. He confirmed the love of God by dying on the cross for me.

Are you lonely? Look to Jesus. He understands our loneliness. Go to Him, and loneliness will turn into joy. Are you still experiencing the pain of being alone? Look to Jesus. He too suffered. Go to him and he will bear your pain. When we look to Jesus, there is grace, joy, and peace.

If we look to Jesus, there is true meaning and hope in life. Only when we look to Him can we know the purpose of life. Look to Jesus. He is the One who took on all our pain, suffering, and sorrow. He is the one who gives us joy and hope. He is the one who will save us even after we die and will be with us for eternity. Moreover, in the ministry of witnesses in this foreign land, we must look to Jesus.

That will give you strength and courage. Only when we look to Jesus can we be comforted and be patient. Dear witnesses, let us look to Jesus. Jesus is also looking at us with the angels and the multitude of witnesses who have ascended to heaven first. We are cheering for our strength. "Give me strength. Give me strength. The Lord is holding hands. If I believe that the Lord is with me, I can overcome any adversity. (You can endure hardships. You can endure sorrow.)"
