Word and Rest (July 31)
(John 4:31-36; Hebrews 4:12)
word and rest
(John 4:31-36; Hebrews 4:12)
The fourth of the Ten Commandments is to keep the Sabbath. The meaning of the Sabbath is important, and that's why we put great weight on it. However, sometimes we neglect to keep the Sabbath. Christians are people who keep Sundays. It is wrong to think that you can keep your faith without keeping Sunday.(...) God created the heavens and the earth and rested on the 7th day. So it's the Sabbath. Since the Sabbath belongs to the principle of creation order, it is impossible to think of a blessed life apart from the principle of the Sabbath.
Rest is very important. It is essential. No matter how busy you are, you must rest.(...) The principle of creation is that you should rest your mind and body.(...) The Israelites were slaves to Egypt.(...) They could not and did not know how to rest. . To such a people, God teaches them to rest.
What are you supposed to do while resting? How are you supposed to rest? It means to take time to remember God, plan a new life, and share a vision. That is why God said that the Sabbath, rest, and rest itself are holy.(...)
Jesus said rest is like food (John 4:27-28). Food is like life.(...) It revitalizes us. You can gain new strength.(...) The Samaritan woman healed him while talking to Jesus.(...) She lived a life of anxiety and frustration every day, but Jesus gave her rest. Meeting the Lord was a rest for her.(...)
Jesus' rest was to pray alone. There was rest and peace when we were with God while having a mysterious conversation with God.(...) In Genesis 29:20, it is said that Jacob tended the sheep for 7 years to find a woman, but 7 years seemed like a few days. (...) It's an amazing and terrifying story. It seems that life should be like this.(...) This morning I am going to testify about the vacation of meeting God and deep communion with God.
Christians must listen to the Word in order to live by it (...) The Word of God awaits us (...) The Word of God sanctifies us (Ephesians 5:26). About 10 years ago, I stayed for a day at a Moravian denomination family. What is special about the family is that the children must read the Bible before eating.(...)
There is the work of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 1-2. Being filled with the Holy Spirit, I came to know and realize what I did not know. When the Holy Spirit came, the Word was spoken. Those words created the work of life and dispelled fear and anxiety.(...) It was an experience that the truth set free.
Everyone! Do not forget that the Word is life. With the Word, the work of life takes place. This holiday, I hope that there will be a history of restoring life in the Word and that there will be rest. Your prayer this summer is “God! Give me a word.” So, I hope that you will know the secrets in the Word and find true peace and rest through vital faith. Amen
