Title Words and supplications

How long do you long to hear the word of God? The time has come to renew our attitude to longing for the Word of God. We should always remember and yearn for the fact that there are so many people and peoples on this earth who want to hear the word of God but do not hear it properly. The attitude to read, listen to, and act on God's Word must be renewed. Although there are many studies and programs that systematically teach and learn the Word of God, it is unfortunate that there are so many believers who are ignorant of the Word of God. The psalmist confesses in verse 105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” For our members, is the word always like a lamp, shining on the front of my life and guiding my path?
Psalm 119 is a new and accurate psalm about the words of the Hebrew alphabet. Hebrew has 22 consonants. By allocating 8 verses to each consonant, I wrote a poem with the beginning of each 8 verse using the words of each Hebrew consonant. So 22*8=176 verses. This chapter has the longest verse in the Bible. What is surprising is the fact that every 176 verses use a word that expresses the Word of God without exception. For example, by mobilizing numerous expressions such as 'the law of the Lord, the testimony of the Lord, the way of the Lord, the judgment of the Lord, the statutes of the Lord, the righteous judgment of the Lord, the word of the Lord, and all the ordinances of your mouth' do. We would like to share the grace of God with Psalm 119, one of the most beautiful psalms that sang the word of God.
The first petition for the Word-'As I long for the Word, I may see the marvelous things of Your law.'
Verse 20, 'My heart is broken because I always long for your statutes', and verse 18, 'Open my eyes, that I may see marvelous things in your laws'. God opens eyes to those who long for the Word. Therefore, the first thing to pray for the words of the saints should always be, 'Lord, I long for your words, open your eyes to me.' The psalmist in the text longs for the word of God and sings it with earnest heart. Verse 40, 'I have longed for Your precepts, and revive me to Your righteousness,' Verse 123, 'My eyes are weary from longing for Your salvation and Your righteous word', Verse 131, 'I With longing for Your commandments, I opened my mouth and panted.” Tired of longing, thirsty and panting with his mouth open
In the Bible, the expressions 'panting' are used when the stream is dry and there is no food (Joel 1:20), when the wild donkeys are overflowing with their desire to reproduce (Jeremiah 2:24), and when they are about to give birth (Jeremiah 4:31). is used for Longing for the Word is longing to such an extent that 'I will die because I cannot eat or drink, and I will die because I cannot satisfy my instinctive desires'. Even Paul simply says that it is always a good thing to have longing. Galatians 4:18, 'It is good not only when I deal with you, but at any time to be longed for with a zeal for a good thing'.
God will surely grant the earnest wishes that come from those who have an attitude of longing for the Word. That is, in verse 18 of the text, 'Open my eyes, that I may see marvelous things in Your law'. In verse 140, we find the confession, 'Your word is very pure, and your servant loves it.' The fact that God's Word is marvelous means that the evidence of God's Word is very detailed. One word, one word, is correct, and it is strange because it is small. Isaiah 34:16 says, 'Read the book of the Lord carefully, and not one of these shall be missing, not one shall be without a mate, for the mouth of the Lord has commanded it, and his spirit has gathered these things'. It's like. Seeing strange things and understanding the Word mean the same thing.
The psalmist confesses in verse 144, 'Your testimonies are righteous forever; give me understanding, that I may live.' Therefore, if you interpret verse 144, you will see that 'to understand is to live.' Why do we need to see and understand? Because that's the way to live. David also confesses in Psalm 18:30 what he experienced in real life in 2 Samuel 22:31. He said, 'The way of God is perfect, and the word of the LORD is pure; I am a shield for those who take refuge in him.' After realizing the pure words of God, isn't this a testimony that the Lord has become his shield so that he can live fully? What should be the confession of a person who has realized the Word? Verse 103 says, "How sweet are your words to me, and sweeter than honey to my mouth." Verse 127, "Therefore, I love Your commandments more than gold, that is, gold." When you confess that you love more than pure gold in the concept of wealth and more than honey in the concept of luxury goods, you will realize the true life of the Word. I hope that you will become all the blessed saints who long for the Word every day and realize the wonderful laws of the Lord.
Second supplication for the word-'Whenever you show me your word, help me to keep your law'
In verses 33-34, we must become believers who sincerely confess, 'Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes, and I will keep them to the end. Give me understanding, and I will walk in your laws, and I will keep them with all my heart'. Peter exhorts us in 1 Peter 2:11: “Beloved, I urge you, as strangers and passersby, to abstain from the lusts of the flesh, which fight against the soul. to turn the .' Understanding the Word is a gift, and keeping the Word is faith. Seeing strange things is a blessing, and obeying the Word is life. Therefore, I hope that you will become blessed saints who live a life that glorifies the Lord by keeping the Word as you understand it.
The third petition of the saints for the Word - 'Give me hospitality and help me to live'
Verse 17, 'Let your servant live with hospitality, and he will keep your word.' The psalmist often sings using the word 'hospitable'. The word “hospitality” means 'treating people generously and abundantly compared to my actions and circumstances'. God is hospitable to us. God makes people who are inevitably children of wrath as children of God. What is this other than true descendants? Psalm 13:6, 'I will praise the LORD for his hospitality to me', Psalm 116:7, 'Return to thy peace, my soul, for the Lord is hospitable', Psalm 142:7, 'My Bring my soul out of prison, that I may give thanks for your name. You will be hospitable to me, and the righteous will surround me.' Those who long for the word of the Lord, those who understand the word of the Lord, and those who keep the word of the Lord, God will be hospitable.
Just compare verses 23-24. In verse 23, 'Princes also sit and blaspheme me, but thy servant meditates on thy statutes', verse 24, 'Your testimonies are my delight and my counsel.' It shows how to live for those who hope for God's hospitality. In verse 23, a prince appears, and in verse 24, a counselor. A prince is one who holds power in this world, and a counselor is nothing but the word of God. Is relying on the prince to solve the problem faster? Or is relying on God's Word to solve problems faster? Realistically, relying on the prince is bound to be quicker. But what is the important issue that appears in the text? In reality, it is the fact that a powerful prince is becoming a force against me. The only thing I can do is to meditate on Your statutes, that is, 'Your will'. What would you do? No matter how we sing that your witness is my joy and my counselor, it doesn't seem to solve the problem at all.
But the Bible speaks boldly. Proverbs 24:5-6 says, 'A wise man is strong, and a knowledgeable man increases strength. Fight with counsel, for the victory is in the abundance of counselors.' In other words, those who have the wisdom to fear God will eventually become strong, and those who have the knowledge of God's Word will grow stronger and stronger. Proverbs 29:26 says, 'Many seek the sovereign for favor, but a man's decree comes from the Lord.' The word of God is our counselor. The Holy Spirit is our counselor. The name of the Messiah is Mosa.
Isaiah 9:6 says, “For to us a child is born, and to us a son is given, and government is upon his shoulders, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ' he says. How does this copy of God help us? Isaiah 30:20 says, “The Lord will give you the bread of affliction and the water of affliction, but your teacher will no longer hide it; your eyes will see your teacher, and whether you turn to the right or to the left, behind you, whether you turn to the right or to the left. You will hear a voice, and you will hear it in your ears, saying, ‘This is the way, and ye shall walk in it.’ How amazing is that? What could be more hospitable than the fact that God is my counselor and acknowledges me as a person of God? Always use the Word of God as your method. And may you empty your mind of reliance on princes and sovereigns. I hope you will always have God as your counselor. I believe that the blessing of God's hospitality will surely follow.
May this year be the lighthouse of your life of God's Word. Whenever you see the Word, live your life while making a sincere supplication before the Lord. 'Let me see the wonders of Your law while I long for Your Word'. 'Whenever you show me your word, let me keep your law'. 'Accept the Word as a counselor, so that we may live with hospitality'. I hope that you will receive answers to your prayers like this and lead a blessed life.
