Title Words from the heart

heartfelt words

Text/ Mark 11:20-24, Luke 6:43-45, Romans 10:10

1. Introduction

Sometimes when we go to a concert, we see the performers tune their instruments before the conductor arrives. Tang dynasty poet 白樂天 (Baek Nakcheon, 772-846) saw this, and in a poem called 枇杷行 (Bipahaeng), he wrote, “轉軸發鉉三兩聲 未成曲調先有情 (Samyangseong Miseonggok Chosunyujeong)-music Before playing, I heard the sound of two-lu-long three or four thumps of the instrument. how to play My heart is fluttering first with curiosity and anticipation.”

Musical instruments and music can be compared to the relationship between mind and speech. The instrument is the mind, and the tune is the horse. Words come out of your heart as if a tune resonates through an instrument. The mind comes first, the words last. It's 未成言事先有心. Before the words came out of their mouths, they were already in their minds. That is why Jesus said, “The mouth speaks out of the abundance of the heart” (Luke 6:45).

2. The creation of the heavens and the earth was accomplished by manifesting the heart of God through the Word

In this sense, we need to meditate on the magnificent story of the creation of the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1-31) once again (read them all together!). On the first day, God said, Let there be light, and there was light, and on the second day, ..the third day, ..the fourth day, ..the fifth day, ..the sixth day “God said ..and it was done.” It was recorded. became. It says, “God spoke with the heart of God, and it came to pass.” The fullness of God's heart appeared as words, and God's will was accomplished.

But the Bible says that God created man in the image of God. It means that God has given us a heart that can communicate with God's heart. Therefore, what a person says with his heart is fulfilled according to that person's will. In other words, it means that what a person speaks with the heart of God, who is light, spirit, and love, will come true. Therefore, Jesus said, “Believe in God, truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, believing that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:22-24).

What does it mean? Nothing can be achieved by just filling the heart. When what is filled in the heart is expressed in words, it becomes concrete in reality. Therefore, the Apostle Paul said, “With the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made, resulting in salvation” (Romans 10:10).

3. What are heartfelt words?

Here, “words from the heart” are not just words spoken with our mouths, but prayer-writing-music-dance-sculpture-architecture-行住坐臥(Haengjuwawa)-expression (laughter, tears, pitch of voice, attire, eyes, face) Light...)-起居motion(gigging motion).

first. “Words from the heart” are words spoken without doubt in your heart, believing that what you say will come true. Broadly speaking, these are the great cry of the East and the West recorded in human history. Admiral Yi Sun-sin's Nanjung Diary - Lincoln's Gettysburg Address - Martin Luther King's "I have a dream", etc. We know that a black man attending the inauguration of President Obama in the United States said, "The election of President Obama is a Martin Luther King Jr. dream come true!" I will never forget the sight of sobbing with emotion.

In a nutshell, each is a my-mission declaration statement. Personally, I think a self-declaration is a must. Do you have your own mission statement? During this time, I urge each person to meditate on the mission they must risk their life to accomplish and write down the details.

second. “Words from the heart” are words that are prepared with sincerity and sincerity. People speak. We say a lot every day and listen to a lot of things. A flood of horses. But few words remain on our minds. There is no water to drink in the flood There are literally no words to hear in the flood of horses. Why? Because there are no words from the heart. As Song Chang-sik's song says, "Why do you sing, why do you sing? Because the voice without the heart is heard in the ears of the body, but not in the ears of the heart. That is why the old people used to say 心不在焉視而不見聽而不聞 食而不知其味 (If you don't put your mind to it, you can't see it, see it, don't hear it, eat it, and don't know the taste.)

The ear of the heart listens only to the words of the heart. No matter how good a word is, it is nothing but nagging. No matter how jumbled and vague the words are, they understand the truth of the words. Preaching, confession of love, persuasion, chatting with friends, teaching to children, any form of speech.

third. “Words from the heart” are words expressed with passionate love to save people.

Even a domestic dog pretends to love - hate - indifferent. How much more would you be human! Do you have something to say to your loved ones (wife-husband-children-friends-lover-neighbors-church family members)? Say it with your heart. Maybe I said it out of love, but you don't listen at all? Does anyone do it? I admit that I can. So, before I get annoyed, before I get upset, how was my communication method? I think that deep reflection (banjo: reflecting on one's own inner heart) will be of great help.
