Title Words of Healing (10) Singing the Lord...

Words of Healing (10) Praise the Lord (Psalm 103:1-6) 2001.10.10.
Psalm 103 tells us who God is, who we are, what we are thankful for, and what praise is, and it tells us fundamentally but very important parts about why we should give thanks and praise to God.
"Bless the Lord, O my soul. Bless the holy name, all that is within me." Today's verse declares that whatever is in me, whether reason, emotion, or soul, must praise God.
And the reason is expressed as follows in verses 3-5. “He who forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, crowns you with kindness and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Looking at this content, there are three main reasons why we should give thanks and praise to God.
First, we should give thanks and praise to God for the grace of apology; second, we should give thanks and praise to God for protecting our health; and third, we should give thanks and praise to God for satisfying our desires. In today's psalm, we can see one secret of David's ability to keep a healthy heart without getting sick even in the midst of great suffering. It is to say a monologue of praise and congratulations with a heart of thanks to God.
The person you talk to is very important in making a person's life healthy. Depending on what kind of person you choose to talk to, the person's humanity is partially revealed. So there is a saying that a friend is a mirror of oneself, and oneself is a mirror of a friend. But the people we talk to the most are not my wife, my friends, or my children. It is yourself. This self-talk is more important than any other conversation. If the conversation is positive, the spirit becomes healthy and clear, but if the conversation is negative, the spirit becomes sick. However, if you listen to David's monologue in today's text, you can see that this is the secret to not getting sick and maintaining a wise and healthy life no matter how great tribulation he faced.
Look at verses 1-2. "Bless the Lord, O my soul! Do not forget, O things within me," he is telling his soul that he should thank God. A monologue of thanks! This is the biggest secret to making a person's soul healthy.
Complaining is natural, but gratitude is supernatural.
Complaining is instinctive, but gratitude is spiritual.
Complaining is emotional, but gratitude is voluntary.
Why should I thank you? Here's the reason for that thanks.
The most basic is the grace of salvation.
Verse 3 "He forgives all your iniquities..." The Christian's thanksgiving to God first begins at the foot of the cross. We must never forget that there He shed His precious blood to set us free from all our sins and to give us the thrill of freedom.
Heaven's Code
The second is the grace of health.
Continue reading verse 3. “He heals all your ailments...” We often hear the testimony of people who miraculously survived their sicknesses. Because of that, we rejoice together. But the more pleasing and even greater miracle is the fact that "I did not have the disease" and furthermore, "I am alive."
There are many possibilities of diseases all around us. The fact that in the midst of this germ-infested world, the Lord has given me a resistance body and I am still alive and well! How grateful are you when you think of that?
We should also be grateful for the grace in life.
Look at verse 4. “You have redeemed my life from ruin and crowned me with kindness and compassion…” How often did God deliver from peril? Looking back on the dangerous moments of the past, I am truly grateful. Each time, I suddenly remember that God showed mercy and mercy.
We should also be grateful for the satisfaction of life and the hope for tomorrow.
Look at verse 5. “He satisfies you with good things and renews your youth like the eagle.” Once we are born into this world, our lives are not long and short. So we should live happily ever after. But someone who can confess that no one is envious! A person who can make this confession is a happy person. Many people on this land usually regret the past and are dissatisfied with the reality. The reason we regret the past is that we are dissatisfied with the present. The current complaint is that there is no hope for the future. So many people live on the land favorably, but in the end they regret it. And he ends his life in a very unpleasant state.
However, we Christians do not need to complain about the present because there is a promised world of great glory in the future. No need to regret the past. And I'm always looking for another opportunity. So that heart is always young. So David is singing about such a hopeful life in today's text. “He satisfies you with good things and renews your youth like the eagle.”
When we think about what our parents have given us during our lifetime, we can belatedly aware of how much effort and sacrifice they have made to always satisfy us with good things. I would like to introduce a meaningful article.
Palgushi demanding reflection on infidelity
1. When children are angry, they are happy, and when their parents are angry, they are dissatisfied. How is the attitude toward children and their parents so different? When your parents scold you again, think of your child and change your mind.
2. Children do not want to hear no matter how much they say, and parents often nag even if they say it once, but this is not nagging, it is a concern. It is a reminder from the experience of being old. Respect and uphold the words of an old man, and do not criticize them by arguing.
3. I don't like the urine of children, but I hate the spitting of old people. So six of you, your body is not made of your parents' blood. Your parents worked hard for you when you were young, but now they are old and withered. Respect your parents and treat them well.
4. I went to the market early in the morning to buy bread, so I thought they were offering their parents, but the child was full, but the parents didn't even taste it. How can a child's heart be so inferior to the love of his parents, and you should buy a lot of bread and offer it to your parents who have little left over.
5. There are medicines that make children gain weight in drugstores on the street, but there is no medicine that strengthens parents. It is because they are zealous in curing children's diseases, but neglect their parents' diseases. Even if you cut off your legs, that's your parents' flesh. Take good care of your parents' health.
6. If you are wealthy, it is easy to make offerings to your parents, but your parents are not always at peace. If you are poor, it is difficult to raise children, but you are never hungry. Because the heart for the parents is worse than the heart for the child. Treat your parents as much as you want them to be, and don't make excuses for being poor in everything.
7. Parents do not like to have two or siblings, so they push each other, and children do not like to give away heat. Children always ask if they are hungry even if they are full, and parents do not worry if they are hungry or cold. You must pay tribute to your parents with all your might. Your food and clothing belong to your parents.
8. A parent's ten-minute love does not consider the grace, and the son's one-minute filial piety is proud. It is dark when it comes to dealing with parents and bright when it comes to thinking of children. Who can tell the love of parents to raise children? I beg you, do not believe in a son's filial piety. You are in a position to be both the parent of the son and the son of the parent. <From “The Mirror of Life” by Kang Heung-soo>
God, who gives good things, has completely forgiven our sins through the blood of Jesus. He healed us from all diseases so that we can live a healthy life. He heard and answered our prayers. May you win every day in this conviction.
The biggest change among human changes is the change in purpose. Real change happens when the purpose of life becomes “for Jesus.” The purpose should be clear. If the purpose is wrong, our life can never be a healthy life. As we live our life of faith, this purpose should be right. What is the purpose? That is the purpose of "for Jesus...". When this change of purpose occurs, we can always sing of happiness. You can always be satisfied. Among them, it is a pity that, even though you believe in Jesus, you cannot open your heart to Jesus once and make a confession like, "The Lord is my bridegroom. You are my everything."
While at Simon's house, a woman broke the alabaster and poured it on Jesus' head, and people said, "Why are you wasting this? You could have sold it and gave it to the poor." did it." People saw the oil poured on Jesus' head as a value for money. But Maria saw it as an absolute value. "Jesus is my everything!" Never, in your life, only value your relationship with Jesus!
And don't judge anything related to life with money. "Jesus is my life." Those who make this confession and set their purpose in life "for the glory of God" will have a healthy life where they experience God's work that is renewed every day for me. Once again, I want you to think deeply about our lives. If we think deeply, we have more reasons to be grateful than to complain. And I hope you have a beautiful monologue like David.
