Title Years! need to save
Contents
Text: Ephesians 5:15-18
Over the course of several weeks from today, I will be speaking with the title of what the life of the saints looks like. Through this sermon, I hope that you will become the saints who change the fate of curses, fate of poverty, fate of misery, fate of disease, and fate of nothingness into a prosperous life.
Today is the first hour of the life of a saint! You have to save. This is the title.
Saving time can change your destiny and make the life of the saints beautiful.
I hope you, dear saints, also save time.
Hel) chiron, translated as “time”, is a variation of “time” kairos, meaning time. There are two words for 'time' in Greek. One is 'chronos', which usually means time passing like hours, minutes, seconds, and 'kairos', a fixed period of time, for example, a person's lifetime (one hundred). years) live. In this case, it means a set time.
Therefore, the phrase “save time” in the text means to make good use of the set (given) time. In the joint translation, “Make good use of the opportunities that have been given to you.” So, time is an opportunity, a chance.
There are three things in the world that, once passed, do not return, and one of them is an arrow that leaves the bow. Therefore, when shooting an arrow, you must pull it as hard as you can. Another word comes from the mouth. Words once uttered cannot be taken back. So you have to be good at speaking. One word reveals character, one word brings thousands of debts, and one word determines success or failure. More importantly, it saves and kills souls with words. Finally, time has passed, time has passed. Time is irreversible. During wasting, wasting is wasting time. So you need to save time.
‘Exagorazomenoi’, translated as “save”, has the meaning of buying, redeeming. So, to save time means to buy and make time (opportunity, chance) as your own.
So how do you make time your own?
(1) You should make good use of your time.
5 minutes of studying for college entrance exam students is qualitatively different from 5 minutes of small talk, and 5 minutes of emergency patients are more important than 5 hours of other people. From now on, I want you to use your time qualitatively, not quantitatively. To do that, ① you need to set priorities in life and use them. The important thing is to go ahead and use your time wisely. ② Set a goal and use it effectively. It is also a problem to live a busy life chasing after things that have neither efficiency nor effectiveness. You need to know how to say no. ③ It should be used in a balanced and harmonious manner. A Christian must find a balance between work time, time spent at home, and time spent in church worship, prayer, and service.
(2) You must live diligently and sincerely.
Christians should not be lazy. “Let us live diligently” (Romans 12:11). You should not expect to be lucky enough or to think of unearned income as a blessing. It is God's law to reap what you sow, so after doing your best, you entrust the results to God.
You must also be diligent in your religious life. ‘The early bird gets more food!’ Christians need to get up early.
Then there are things to do to save time.
1) We must strive to understand what the will of the Lord is.
Save time in verse 16 Why? Because the times are evil, we can live in vain and waste our lives. You can risk your life for something worthless. Therefore, consider the will of the Lord. Then you will not live a foolish life, but live for something worthwhile and worthwhile and eternal. I wish you all the same.
2) You must not be drunk.
You shouldn't drink or smoke (in a broader sense, you shouldn't be preoccupied with the world), but don't waste your time on those things.
3) You must be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Spend a lot of your time longing for the Lord's grace and being filled with the Holy Spirit. I hope that you go to the prayer center even on summer vacation, put off the indolence of your religious life for a year, and come back to praise, pray, receive grace, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
4) Live a life of praise, thanksgiving, and submission.
Time to live centered on God This is a precious time. Only these times will remain as heavenly rewards, blessings, and crowns. Other times are valued in the world and then end in the world.
Dear members of Shepherd Church,
Save time. Manage your time well. Be good. It will make your life look more beautiful. “I will live my life sparing the years” I pray in the name of Jesus that you have a week filled with the grace of the Lord.
