focus on God
The characteristic of a person who receives answers to prayers is to focus their hearts on God. Just as a thirsty deer longs for a brook, so earnestly seeks God only (Psalm 42:1-2). Even if the answer is delayed, believe in God who answers and focus all your heart on God and wait for God (Isaiah 26:8-9). The Bible describes three types of prayers of those who focus on God.
1) Face and gaze facing the sky in prayer
When Solomon knelt down and raised his hands in prayer, his face turned toward the sky (2 Chron. When Jesus prayed, his face and gaze turned toward heaven (John 17:1). It is an expression of faith that the answer to prayer is in God when the face and gaze are directed toward the sky.
2) Kneeling with your face facing the ground or praying with your face on the ground
It is a sign of humility to humble oneself before God. God answers humble prayers. Instead of fighting to carry out his own will, God answers the humble prayer that humbly asks for the Father's will (Matthew 26:39).
3) Pray with your face between your knees
This is an image of putting all your heart into prayer. 1 Kings 18:42 testifies that "Elijah went up to the top of Mount Carmel, and knelt down on the ground, and put his face between his knees and prayed." It shows the figure of Elijah who prayed earnestly. If you truly want answers to your prayers, you will see God's answers when you focus your whole heart on God.
listen to the voice of God
If you want answers to prayer, you must listen to God's voice. Countless sounds are heard in our ears. Among them, you should especially focus your ears on the voice of God. The characteristic of prayerful people throughout the Old and New Testaments is that they always listened to God's voice. Most of the forefathers of faith who received answers in the Bible, such as Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Daniel, Elijah, Isaiah, Joel, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Peter, Paul, and John, know how to listen to the word of the Lord. They were discerning and obedient. God has spoken through many ways so far.
1) He spoke through people
David had a passion to build the temple, but when the prophet Nathan announced that he could not do it and that the child to be born would build it, David heard it not with the voice of men but with the voice of God and praised God highly (2 Samuel 7: 1-29). Also, when he sinned against God, when he was rebuked through Nathan, he heard the voice of God, confessed, and repented (2 Samuel 12:1-15; Psalm 51).
2) He spoke through an angel (angel) of God
He spoke to Abraham (Gen. 18:1-10; Gen 22:12), to Gad (1 Chronicles 21:18), to Daniel (Dan 9:21; Dan 10:13, 21), and to Zechariah. He spoke to them (Zech 2:1-5), to Zacharias (Luke 1:8-20), to Mary (Luke 1:19), to the apostles (Acts 1:10-11), and to Cornelius ( Acts 10:3-6) and Paul (Acts 27:23-24). Each time he spoke through an angel of God, they heard the voice of God.
3) You said it yourself
There were times when God spoke directly through spirits, through dreams, and through visions.
4) He spoke through the written Bible
At the Jerusalem church meeting, James heard the word of God through the prophecies of the prophet Amos and set rules for the Gentiles the church met at that time (Acts 15:13-21). If you want to hear God's voice 1) First, it is important to have an attitude to follow God's will. When you realize God's will, you must immediately take an attitude of obedience. 2) We must command to silence Satan's voice with the power of Christ. 3) We must ask the Lord to purify our hearts from any imagination or preconceived thoughts. 4) We must wait and believe that God will speak at the time and method chosen by Him. 5) You must always see and hear God's Word, the Bible.
Because prayer is not a monologue, it is a conversation, so in order to give a prayer that is answered, you must be able to hear God's voice as much as you ask God. God wants to speak to us. We absolutely need to know how to listen to God's voice, whether we listen to God's Word by understanding the Word of the Bible, or the voice that guides us in our lives.
look to God
Look to God when praying. The eyes of the praying man should be focused on God. Because the answers to prayers come from God. Seeing God is a sign of faith. The most important thing in answering prayer is faith in God who answers (James 5:15). Jesus made the promise of the prayer of faith. ?쏷ruly, I say to you, if anyone says to this mountain, ?쁁e lifted up and thrown into the sea,??and does not doubt in his heart, believing that what he says will come true, it will be done for him. Whatever you pray and ask, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours (Mark 11:23-24). If you want answers to prayers, you must focus your eyes on the living God, not on people, the world, problems, or the environment.
Specifically, what kind of God should we look to in the circumstances of our lives?
1) He is the God of glory and power (Psalm 63:2; Deuteronomy 26:19; Ezekiel 10:19; Job 25:2; Exodus 32:11). 2) He is the God who saves from problems (Ezra 8:31; Psalm 18:2; Psalm 40:7; Jon 2:6; Mic 7:7).
3) He is a God who gives faith (Acts 14:22; Acts 14:27; Romans 1:17; Hebrews 12:2).
4) He is the God who gives refreshment (Psalm 43:2; Isaiah 40:31; Deuteronomy 16:17; Psalm 59:9).
5) He is a faithful God (Deuteronomy 7:9; Hos 11:12; Isaiah 49:7).
6) He is the God who answers prayers (2 Chronicles 7:14; Job 8:5-6; Psalm 50:15; Jeremiah 29:12-13; Matt 18:19-20).
7) He is a God who does not forsake us (Leviticus 26:44; Deut 4:31; Deuteronomy 31:6; Deuteronomy 31:8).
When Paul became a prisoner while preaching the gospel and got on a ship going to Rome, he was saved because he looked to the Lord in the midst of a great storm called Euraquillo. Even Peter could walk on water when he looked to the Lord on a stormy sea. However, when Peter's eyes looked at the surrounding environment, he fell into the water (Matthew 14:28-30). If you truly want answers to prayer, you must focus your eyes on God. Instead of looking at people, the world, problems, or circumstances, we must look to the living God. We must look to the glory and power of God who gives refreshment to those who are weary, solves problems for those who encounter problems, and faithfully answers those who cry out for them based on the word of promise.
