A church that shares and serves
Contents Today is the Sunday to commemorate the 120th anniversary of our Saemoonan Church. All of us on this day were built on this land at the end of the 19th century, when national power was leaning and the existence of the country itself was in jeopardy. Through the turbulent 20th century such as the struggle of We cannot but give thanks, praise, and glory to God for the grace that was with us. The grace of God that Saemoonan Church has enjoyed for 120 years is the grace enjoyed by the Korean church and the grace enjoyed by this nation.
A mother's health is especially important for the stability of a family. Then, it would be important for the stability of the entire Korean church for Saemoonan Church to always remain a healthy church. That is why the main goal of our church ministry is to create a healthy church and to make the members healthy believers. But what does it mean to be healthy? It is never healthy to gain a lot of weight and become bloated and move slowly and sluggishly. To be healthy, you need to lose as much fat as possible and build strong muscles to move quickly and use your strength. Likewise, a church cannot be said to be a healthy church if only the number of members increases. What matters is how much work you do and how diligently you can move. How useful it is for others is important. A church that is large and wealthy and knows only itself is like a child with childhood obesity. Just as a healthy and mature person must be able to think about others and help others, so is the church. A church that likes to write abundantly among themselves in the church, but is stingy toward the outside, does not even deserve to be called a church.
All of these are evidences of the remarkable growth of our church, but we should not be satisfied with them. We must continue to work harder and harder to wash away the image of the Church that is stingy towards the outside. We must share with the nation the grace of God that we have received for 120 years, which is longer than any other church. Of course, you'll need a lot of budget backing to do that. It takes determination and effort to tighten our belts. The sacrifice of a mother who eats less and wears less is required for the sake of her family. It's hard work, but it must be done. Because it is Mother Church. We must never forget that the pride of our church is only sacrifice and devotion.
