(2011.12.04. Week) (2 Timothy 2:20-21)
There is a saying in Chinese called Gyereuk (鷄肋) - which means chicken ribs - What is chicken ribs? - It is a waste to throw it away, but there is nothing to eat.
There are a lot of things that are worth throwing away but are useless.
* Do you have clothes that you don't wear even after several years and end up throwing them away because it's a waste to throw them away?
*Are there some dishes that just take up space in the cupboards or cabinets without being used for years?
*Are there some books or notebooks on the bookshelves that have not been read for years and are just taking up space?
It's not just stuff.
People too - like old clothes that only take up a closet, like a bowl that takes up only a decoration, like an old book that takes up only a bookshelf, like a chicken rib that no one eats - should not be just a name.
Don't become useless - I pray that you will become useful people, people who are greatly used, people who need them everywhere, people who are useful.
1. There are also bowls that are easy to use.
It's a house, and there are several bowls. No matter how poor a family is, there is no single bowl of rice. The rich house has more kinds of vessels.
(2:20)-“In a large house, there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also wooden vessels and earthen vessels, some of which are of noble use and some of that which are used lowly.” It is a house with silver vessels and gold vessels.
If so, what kind of bowl is a good bowl for use????
1) The material of the bowl is not important.
When we were young, brass bowls were the most common bowls - but when stainless steel bowls appeared, brass bowls became stinky - Because brass bowls change color easily and need to be cleaned often, we came to prefer stainless steel bowls that are easy to clean without getting dirty.
Also, before, porcelain was commonly used - porcelain suddenly changed to plastic - because porcelain is heavy and brittle, because plastic bowls are light and unbreakable.
Plastic bowls are now being phased out - because plastic bowls are high in endocrine disruptors.
* Brass is more expensive and higher quality than stainless, but it is inconvenient to use, so I am reluctant to use it.
*Porcelain bowls are of higher quality than plastic bowls, but they are inconvenient to use, so they have been pushed back.
*Plastic bowls seem to be easy to use, but I am reluctant to use them again because they are not good for health.
Then, among gold, silver, wooden, and earthen bowls, which bowl is best to use?????
No matter how much you think about it, it is difficult to say that a bowl made of anything is a good bowl to use.
Even in today's text, there is no saying that a vessel made of anything is a good vessel to use.
2) A clean bowl is good for writing.
What is the bowl made of? There is one more important condition. What are the conditions for a good bowl to use?
(2:21) - “Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will become a vessel for honor, sanctified, fit for the master’s use, and prepared for every good work.”
Which bowl is good to use??? - It's a clean bowl.
*If you put the rice in a gold bowl with moldy food residues on it, would you eat it?
*If you were to eat soup with a spoon that was just picked up from the spit, would you eat it?
No matter how much gold or silver bowls are - you don't want to eat food in dirty bowls???
Good quality bowls are good to sell to junk stores - but clean bowls are good for use.
2. Society also needs good people to write.
These days, <Benz Female Prosecutor> frequently comes and goes on the media outlets - A 36-year-old female prosecutor is late for work, is good at dealing with superiors during business hours, receives a Mercedes-Benz car from a lawyer, uses it, and asks for a better seat. Please - and I recently resigned. Is such a person really what the people need?
It did not end with the resignation, but was now the subject of investigation that should be investigated.
1) There are people who cannot use it even if the external conditions are good.
If that female prosecutor didn't have the skills, she wouldn't have become a prosecutor right? - Obviously a smart person, a person who studied a lot, and a car from a lawyer, he is also a resourceful person.
Just as the material of the bowl is not important - the external conditions of a person do not make a good person to use.
* Even if you have a lot of money, a person who uses it badly cannot become a good person.
*Even if you have superior knowledge, you cannot become a good person if you use that knowledge badly.
*People who use money, knowledge, power, and personal connections in a dirty way - they will not be useful talents in the state - are people who should be expelled one day when it is revealed.
2) A clean person is a good person.
Rather than dirty gold and silver bowls - even if it's a clean earthen bowl, it's good to use it
Rather than a dirty intellectual - a little less educated, but a good worker for a clean person.
Even without wealth - a clean man is a good worker.
Even if you are rich, talented, and handsome, dirty people do not make good talents - The society also demands clean people - Please be a clean person.
3. You must become a good person to be used by God.
What kind of person will God use preciously? - What kind of person is good for God to use?
<God also greatly uses clean people>
(2:21) - “Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will become a vessel for honor, sanctified, fit for the master’s use, and prepared for every good work.”
So who is a clean person?
(Psalm 119:9) - “With what can a young man cleanse his conduct, for he only keeps the word of the Lord.”
Those who keep the word of God are those who are clean. - Please keep the word of God carefully.
*The devil tempts you to disobey God - Stay away from the devil's temptations and keep God's Word.
*Unbelief is doubting God - Throw away your unbelief and follow God with sure faith.
*Envy, jealousy, and hatred are protesting against God - Please practice love as God wants you to.
*If you only pursue the reality that is in front of you, you will not be able to follow the right path that God leads.
*Disobedience is the thing God hates the most - Obedience is the fulfillment of God's Word.
(1 Samuel 15:22) - “Samuel said to him, “Does the LORD take delight in burnt offerings and other sacrifices, as he loves obedience to his voice?
Disobeying God's Word and disobeying God's will are the things God hates the most.
You must not defile yourself with disobedience.
Those who keep the word of God are said to be clean people, and obeying the word of God is what pleases God the most.
*It doesn't matter if it's a gold or silver bowl. But it shouldn't be a dirty bowl.
I pray that you will become good workers for God to use by being recognized for your cleanliness through faith, hope, love, and obedience.
