title ; adjust the speed
main text ; Genesis 33:12-14
Life is often compared to a marathon.
One of the most important things in a marathon is 'speed control'.
No matter how fast a marathon runner runs at first, he can never expect good results if he loses strength and sags later. However, if you lag too much from the beginning, you will not be able to catch up later, so you will not be able to achieve good results.
In other words, in order to achieve good grades, you need to control your stockpile of competencies.
Life, which is compared to a marathon, also requires speed control.
There are cases where they go forward blindly without knowing their capabilities and limitations, and then they end up sitting down due to lack of strength.
In particular, in the case of Koreans, there are many cases of 'quick and quick', so they become a dragon-du-sami.
To put it simply, at first, things seem to be going very well because you put a lot of effort into them, but later you lose your strength and it doesn't matter much.
However, there are cases where you slow down from the beginning and then 'slow down' and end up at the bottom of your life.
When you run a business, you also need to adjust your speed.
In particular, there are cases of hasty business in a foreign land, causing trouble and losing happiness in immigrant life.
However, if you slow down your business, you may not be able to afford the living expenses, and you may feel nervous, lose your peace of mind, and fall into irritability and anxiety.
In other words, even when doing business in a foreign land, you can have a happier immigrant life if you control your speed well with God.
And living here, there are times when speed control is desperately needed. It's time to drive. In particular, if you fail to control your speed when driving in foreign land, you will not be able to live.
That's why, even for me, I seem to see the speed gauge and speed signs the most when driving.
Perhaps some of you have experienced getting a speeding ticket at least once. How did you feel at that time? Didn't your facial expression suddenly darken and you felt the bitterness of chewing sand?
In other words, depending on the success or failure of speed control, it may be a crying image or a smiling image.
And if you look at our church these days, everyone from children to adults, and both men and women, are passionate about badminton, and the important thing in badminton is also speed control.
When sending the shuttlecock to the opponent, you have to send it fast and hard, but sometimes you can do a good game by releasing the wrist and sending it very slowly and weakly.
And when playing music with instruments such as piano and violin, and also when singing hymns, speed control is very important. When it comes to music, if you can't control the speed, you can't play and sing well.
In today's text, we see the dramatic reunion of Jacob and Esau.
At first, Esau, the older brother, could not solve his old grudge against his younger brother Jacob, so he ran with 400 soldiers to kill his younger brother, but God dramatically reconciled the two, so the older brother's heart was relieved and he spoke to his younger brother.
"Come with me, Jacob. I will lead your family and livestock before you."
Then Jacob speaks. "Brother, my children here are weak, and sheep and cattle have given birth, so if you drive too much for just one day, all the herds will die. So I will go slowly. You have a lot of other work to do, so go ahead."
In other words, there are people who need to go fast and people who need to go slowly, depending on their environment and situation.
In the case of Esau, the people accompanying him were all strong soldiers and came on horseback, so it doesn't matter if you run fast.
However, in Jacob's case, Dahl's family is weak, and livestock also have babies, so if you go fast, you will lose everything.
If you look at the Bible, you can see that God also controls the speed.
In Exodus 12, we see the ceremony of the Passover Lamb. Then God gave instructions to the Israelites.
?쏽ou shall roast the lamb over the fire and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs: this is how you shall eat it: with your loins girdles, with your sandals on your feet, and with your staff in your hand, you shall eat quickly, for this is the Passover of the Lord??(Exodus 12:8). , 11)
In other words, when you come out of Egypt, which symbolizes the world of sin, do not look back and come out as quickly as possible.
Ladies and gentlemen, God is controlling the pace of our individual lives. You and I are controlling the speed at which we are born on this earth and the rate at which we leave this earth, and we are also controlling who has to go early and who has to go later.
And God precisely matched the speed at which Jesus came to this earth, the speed at which Jesus left this earth, and also the speed at which Jesus came back to this earth.
And this is our prayer to God today. "Lord, please speed up my life."
After I was discharged from the army, I received the Holy Spirit and met God at the Osan-ri Full Gospel Prayer Center. And then I heard the voice of God calling me to be the servant of the Lord.
So I immediately applied for admission to the seminary and took the exam. However, the people interviewing me looked at my documents and told me to come next year because I am one year younger than my 27-year-old qualifications for admission.
I wondered at the time, "No, God, you asked me to go to a seminary, so I applied for it, so why didn't you accept me?"
Then I later found out why God didn't let me go to seminary earlier. It was so that God gave me more prayer training.
After I failed the seminary exam, I was able to do nothing else for a year and devote myself to praying. I am truly grateful and thankful that God did not send me to a seminary right away at that time and gave me training in prayer.
Ladies and gentlemen, it may be that you and I have a common desire to come to a foreign land and try to accomplish what you have planned and set up as quickly as possible. Whether you want to study, run a business, or get a job, you want to achieve your goals quickly.
But do not forget. Speed adjustment is required. There are things that need to be done quickly now, and there are things that need to be done slowly later.
Please check to see if God is delaying your plans because you need time for prayer or service, just like me.
And when we receive God's answers, we must discern the speed accordingly. When we pray to God, "All has been given. He will do it." Sometimes you hear a response.
Furthermore, there are times when we hear God's answer, "I will do it quickly" and rejoice over and over again. However, there are many cases where it leads to a later response rather than an immediate response.
Here's an example. I have a younger sister who now lives in LA. When she was in Korea, after graduating from college, she had a big dream, none other than to become an airplane stewardess.
However, the entrance exam as an open job had a very competitive rate of hundreds of people and had to go through a very difficult exam process. That's why my brother went to the Osan-ri prayer center, fasted and prayed for three days, and clinged to God.
After praying like that, my sister had a dream, and she had a dream that she passed the stewardess exam. After the dream, she jumped with joy and said, "Mom, brother, am I dreaming of passing the exam?" I went to take the exam with a happy heart.
However, on the day of the announcement of the first successful applicants, she returned home with sagging grass and a great disappointment. It's too futile to fail the exam.
She comes home and speaks. "Oppa, why is God lying? Did you starve for three days for nothing? I don't believe in God anymore!"
However, it was none other than the response that came in the next year that gave me the answer of acceptance in that dream. The following year, my younger brother was able to pass safely as the Lord answered in advance despite the fiercer competition.
Ladies and gentlemen, God seems to match the pace of revival in our church as well.
It seems that this good temple was given after 2 years of opening, because it was impossible to purchase a temple like this at any other time due to the later circumstances, that is, the price of this temple today has doubled.
However, it seems that God is doing another speed control by sending the saints to fill this temple.
In other words, if you suddenly achieve revival, you and I will become arrogant and cause bad results in the future, so it seems that revival is accomplished after going through a process of refining and training.
Everyone, think about it.
Even when God pours out blessings on us, don't you think that we go through refinement and training and control our speed?
Then, shouldn't we be able to discern God's speed control well so that when God is in a hurry, we must hurry together, and when God is going slowly, we must go slow together?
And do we not need such a prayer?
"Lord, please adjust the speed."
