authority of the word

Text: Isaiah 55:6-11
Faith means believing in God.
Therefore, the life of faith means that believers live according to the Word of God. God's word contains God's intention, will, and plan.
Therefore, to lead a good life of faith means to understand God's will contained in God's Word, understand God's intention, and live according to His Word. In other words, we live obediently.
The word of God is not the word of man. There is a false element in human speech, and the words differ according to interests. There is also an element of betrayal and it can change. But God is not. God created the heavens and the earth with His Word, and in the Old Testament times He spoke to us through prophets, in the New Testament He spoke through His Son Jesus, and now He is speaking to us through the Word of the Bible. He makes the saints understand and understand the Word through the Holy Spirit.
These words of God have an authority that cannot be seen in the world.
1. The authority of the Word lies in creativity.
Genesis 1:4 says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… God said, Let there be light, and there was light, and God saw that the light was good.”
Here, the (Heb) ‘hama’ and (Gel) ‘Lego’ translated as “the sayings” are all verbs, not dictated words but living words. That is why Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart…” The word of God has authority because it is alive, because it works, and because it is creative.
2. The authority of the Word is in life (sex).
1 John 1:1 “the word of life from the beginning…” and John 6:68, “Jesus said to him, “Are you also going? Simon Peter answered, “To whom shall we go?”
That's right. Jesus came into this world to give us life and give it abundantly. Conversely, the devil takes our lives. Therefore, we can be free in the truth only when we abide in the words of Jesus (John 8:32).
3. The authority of the Word lies in its absoluteness.
The word of God cannot be obeyed or disobeyed; there is only absolute obedience. So, do what God tells you to do, and don't do what God tells you not to do. There can be no compromise or bargaining before the Word. In the case of Abraham, the command of the Word increases its intensity. 1. Leave your hometown 2. Cast out Israel. 3. Offer Isaac. God requires it to a level that humans cannot obey. However, when we obey, we see blessings as the father of faith, the father of blessing, and the ancestor of Israel.
4. The authority of the Word is in eternity.
Matthew 24:35 says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” The things of the world change and pass away, but the word of God does not change and does not pass away. When we are tempted, the Lord speaks. “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God”. Hallelujah! We must respond with ‘Amen’ to the word of God given through the Bible and the word of God given through the servant of the Lord.
5. The authority of the Word is in the highest.
2 Timothy 2:5 says, “He who competes according to the law will be crowned.” Here, the law is the law of the Word. God's law is the supreme law. In Dan 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego do not bow down to the golden image of King Nebuchadnezzar. They had the courage and faith to go into the furnace because they said, "You shall not have any other gods before me...". God's laws, words, and commands are higher, precious, and great than the king's laws and commands.
6. The authority of the Word lies in perfection.
When Jesus died on the cross, He said, “It is finished” (John 19:30). It means that the words promised through the prophet and God's plan to save mankind have been fulfilled. Matthew 5:18 says, “Until heaven and earth pass away, not one jot, one tittle, one tittle of the law will surely pass away, but all will be fulfilled.”
