baptism to be entitled
Do I need to be baptized? Jesus was also baptized. Jesus told his apostles to “baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” (Matthew 28:19). What kind of baptism do we need to be baptized?
?? Immersion baptism.
In the text, the account of Jesus' baptism is written as follows. “Jesus came into Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John” (verse 13). The church is a community of people who have drenched themselves in water.
The word baptism comes from the Greek word “baptho”, which means “to be immersed in water” or “to be immersed in water”. By immersion in water, the old person is buried and a new person is born. Jesus' ministry begins with water. You were baptized by immersion in water. The first miracle was to turn water into wine for a banquet house. Baptism with water means repentance and entry into the holy community of God. They were baptized when an unbeliever became a believer and an idolater converted and returned to God. Water is a blessing from God and a grace that revitalizes the soul. May we be baptized to go from darkness to light, from death to life, and from the world to God.
?? It is the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
You must be baptized with water and then be baptized with the Holy Spirit. “When Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened and he saw the Holy Spirit descending like a dove and alighting on him” (verse 16). John baptized with water and God baptized with the Holy Spirit. Before the Holy Spirit came, the heavens were opened. Baptism opens the door to communion with God. When you are baptized, your relationship with God is opened and the gaps that were blocked are cleared. The heavens opened and the Holy Spirit descended like a dove. The dove is a symbol of peace. He sent the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Peace, to make it a propitiation offering. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the power to be born again, and it makes us boldly preachers of the gospel. It provides the gifts and powers needed to testify of Christ, expand the kingdom of God, and build up the church. The Apostle Paul asked in Ephesus, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” (Acts 19:2). Please be filled with the Holy Spirit and be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
?? Death baptism.
There is a baptism of death in which we offer ourselves to accomplish God's will. Brothers James and John the sons of Zebedee said to Jesus, “In your glory, grant us to sit, one at your right hand and the other at your left.” Jesus tells them. “You do not know what you are asking, can you drink the cup of my drink and be baptized with me?” (Mark 10:35-40). The “cup I drink and the baptism I receive” that Jesus refers to here refers to his death. The cup of death that God gives is the word that we accept as an unavoidable fate. He spoke of the suffering and death that he would suffer on the cross as “baptism to receive.” Jesus came to be baptized.
Baptism by immersion, baptism in the Holy Spirit, and finally baptism by death. Lent period. Let us meditate on the suffering and sacrifice of the Lord. Remember the Lord who asked John the Baptist to be baptized with water to fulfill all righteousness. Let us meditate on the Lord who foresaw his own death and prepares for the baptism to be received.
