Title: Be careful not to lose
1. In particular, the text tells us not to take away three things.
(1) Do not take away your honor.
We humans had a dignity that could not be exchanged with any other sun, moon, stars, and creations in the world. But even though he lost his dignity because of sin, Jesus restored it with the blood of the precious blood.
Now, we must work hard every day so that our dignity is not deprived of it.
If a human lives with human dignity, he becomes the lord of all things.
But if man loses his dignity, he will be no less than the time of all things. Sin has taken away its honor from man, and it takes it away. Isaiah 32:7-8
(2) Do not let your days be taken away by the cruel.
Verse 9, the second half, “May your days be taken away by a cruel person.”
When we are born into this world, we are born with a gift from God.
We should enjoy this life happily because life is short.
This life must not be wasted in debauchery and wasted time.
It is not a sacrifice for others, nor martyrdom for the country, nor death for the sake of righteousness for a man to lose his life while leading a lustful life, running wildly, openly, and living a lustful life.
In short, it's just a worthless death. So young people should be careful.
The temptations of life can ruin your life in an instant.
Young people, especially, should not think that many years are left, but should be more careful.
The text is not necessarily a story of longevity, but a story of living the life given to us the most.
⑶ Do not let others take your possessions (verse 10).
“May the other person be satisfied with your wealth, and that your labor will be in the house of a stranger”
It is heartbreaking to see that the blood and sweat you have collected becomes someone else's property.
It would be intolerable if my possessions were transferred to someone else and they were used up.
It is the law of harvest to reap according to the labor of one's hands.
But for someone else to take away your hard work, it is taken away.
When Israel trusted in God, God protected them, but when they left God, they were taken from their neighbors.
2. (Respect, life, material) He teaches you how to not be taken away in a kind and detailed way.
(1) Listen to the words of Proverbs
We must gather our strength, remembering that the time will come when the body and everything will fail.
We must always listen to the word of God and live.
(2) Stay away from the whisperings of harlots (Proverbs 7:25-26)
The text reads, “Stay far and do not come near the door of his house.”
Conversely, the psalmist instructs that meditating on the word of the Lord day and night is the way to stay away from it, and tells us to stay away from things that make me fall.
⑶ Don't do anything you'll regret
Verse 12, “I say, Why do I hate instruction, and rebuke is light in my heart?”
13 “I did not heed the voice of my teacher, nor listen to the one who taught me.”
We must be careful not to have regrets in our words, actions, or decisions we make.
