Bible: Genesis 48:8-16 Title: Blessing from above (laying hands)
The laying on of hands is a spiritual and blessed act given the background of the work of the Holy Spirit, who pours out power and gifts for the glory of God.
Curse removed and blessings come
1) To make them depart from the weakness of those who are ordained, and from the power and curse of demons,
2) By bestowing divine powers and gifts from heaven, it makes them distinguish and devote themselves so that they can be used by God with strength, victory over the devil, and cleanliness.
3) The meaning of ordination is unity, unity, unity, and a sense of belonging.
By bringing the sacrifice and laying hands on it, sinners' sins and defilements are removed, and they become one with the Holy God and receive the blessing of God's presence.
“The one who speaks aloof and is blessed with the highest” (Hebrews 7:7).
Old Testament times of laying on of hands
1) Lay your hands on the sacrifice to impute the person's sins (Leviticus 1:4, Numbers 8:10)
When they stone blasphemers or offenders from their parents, they place their hands on their hands to separate them from the curse by imputing their character and judgment to come by hearing them (Leviticus 24:14)
2) Parents laid their hands on their children when they inherited and installed a teacher to their disciple.
(Genesis 27:27, 48:8-16, Num 27:18, Deut 34:9)
Jesus' hands
1) When healing the sick, the healing power was transferred to the sick (Mark 6:5, Acts 28:8-blind, the sick)
2) When he blessed the children and when he ascended to heaven, he raised his hands and blessed his disciples (Mark 10:16, Luke 24:50-53).
3) When Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River and came up from the water, the heavens were opened and the Holy Spirit came like a dove to receive the evidence that the relationship between God and the Son was united through love and joy.
ordination of the church
1) Those who believe in Jesus and are baptized become one with the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands (Acts 8:18)
2) When delegating an office, transmit one's supernatural authority, office, and power, and set aside and consecrate it for serving God (Acts 8:18; 1 Tim 5:22; 2 Tim 1:6).
3) When the apostles Peter and John laid their hands on the Samaritans, the Holy Spirit came on them. (Acts 8:15-17) When the church in Antioch sent Paul and Barnabas as missionaries, they placed their hands on them.
The laying on of hands was done by the apostles with the authority and spiritual order of the church.
Jacob's Blessing
Before Jacob died at the age of 147, he wanted to pass on the blessings he had received from his father Isaac to his descendants, Joseph and his grandchildren.
God-given blessings can be given by parents to their children, by Christ to the church, and with the authority of anointing.
The God of the covenant that my ancestors served, the God who raised me up until now, and the messenger who rescued me from all tribulation blessed them so that they could reproduce.
attitude of the ordained person
1) Kneel down and submit to God's authority and order, 2) bow your head. It is submission to Christ and to the apostle who has the authority of the church.
