Break the title inertia
<The Gospel of John (16) Break the inertia (John 2:6-11)
<What God Likes>
When Jesus performed the miracle of changing water into wine at a wedding in Cana in Galilee, there were six jars that could hold about 100 liters of water (verse 6). When all the water in the jar was turned into wine, about 600 liters of wine was produced. Moreover, the wine was not a bad wine, but the most delicious. When we see that he has given us such a large amount of delicious wine, we realize once again that Jesus is the One who gives abundantly.
There is no limit to God's grace. When he created all things, he created more than enough, not just enough. God doesn't give only what he needs, he always gives more than he needs; He doesn't give just enough, he always gives more than enough; He doesn't give only what he wants, he gives more than what he wants. In the same way, Jesus is the abundant God who gives abundantly more than we need.
Regardless of their material situation, believers are richer than anyone in God. He who has nothing in God has everything. As such, God's grace is always given beyond our imagination, so we have nothing more to ask of God. So, the word that should come out the most from your lips when you pray is ‘thank you’. The Apostle Paul said that God is “able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20). God likes 'us', but he also likes 'blessing us'.
< Break the inertia >
Does it seem that God's abundance is missing now? Don't just think about it now. God's grace increases as we get older. When Jesus turned water into wine, the banquet hall tasted the wine and marveled at its amazing taste. “And he said, “Everyone makes good wine first, and after they have been drunk they serve low things; but you have kept good wine until now” (verse 10). Likewise, Jesus always leaves the best to the end.
The world puts out the best first and then the worst. However, when God offers something, it starts with ‘the good’ and gradually comes out ‘the best’. In fact, if we look closely at our lives, we are already filled with God's blessings. And as you go further, the blessing will increase, and you will reach the climax of the blessing when you enter the kingdom of heaven.
One day, when you enter the kingdom of God, you will enjoy the best of the best while seeing scenes beyond your imagination. Heaven will be the place to live on this earth and get what you most longed for in your heart. After all, the most frightening thing is not going to heaven. In that sense, the saints who have attained heaven are already getting more than 99% of the blessings. The blessings of heaven are greater than any other miraculous blessing.
If you go to heaven, you will hear the Lord's voice like this. “Well done, good and faithful servant, since you were faithful over a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master” (Matthew 25:23). In that moment, fantastic joy overwhelms us and we are greeted with such admiration as we see the unimaginable blessed scene. "God! You’ve left the best of all so far.” The best the world can give is just a taste of the best that lies ahead. Longing for such best blessings, live your life of faith.
Why did Jesus just watch until the wine ran out? This is because people earnestly long for what Jesus will give them when what they have is exhausted. That longing heart is the most important thing. There is a saying. “Money in heaven is the heart of longing for Jesus.” If you have longing for Jesus, you will get it right away at the cost of many blessings in heaven. Do you have a heart to long for Jesus right now? Inertia is the greatest misfortune. Break the inertia. From then on, misfortunes will be overcome and the tower of happiness will be built up.
