Old Testament
3. When I fasted, put on sackcloth, and covered myself with ashes, I decided to pray and make supplication to the Lord God.
4. Pray and confess to the LORD my God, saying, “Great and fearful Lord God, who keeps a covenant for those who love you and keep your commandments, and show kindness to them.
5. We have sinned and are rebellious, wicked and rebellious, and have departed from Your decrees and ordinances.
6. And we did not listen to what your servants the prophets spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, our ancestors, and all the people.
new testament
30. What then shall we say? The Gentiles who did not follow righteousness have obtained righteousness, which is the righteousness of faith.
31. Israel, who followed the law of righteousness, did not come to the law.
32. What is it? For they depend not on faith, but on works, and they have hit the stone to be struck.
33. As it is written, Behold, I set in Zion a stumbling block and a rock of stumbling, and he who believes in him will not be put to shame.
1. My heart's desire and prayer to God, brethren, is for Israel, that they may be saved.
2. I testify that they are zealous for God, but not according to correct knowledge.
3. They did not know the righteousness of God, and tried to establish their own, and did not submit to the righteousness of God.
4. Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

We are celebrating the 68th anniversary of liberation. The reason God miraculously liberated our country from the tyranny of the Japanese colonial era is because our forefathers of faith did not give up on their faith until the very end. We must continue to pray for peaceful unification by following the prayers of our ancestors. What prayer was answered for Daniel's people?
1. He listens to us when we decide to repent ( ). Daniel “fasted, put on sackcloth, and covered himself with ashes… and resolved to make supplication” (v. 2). His prayer was to truly repent of the sins of the nation as mine. He repeatedly confesses that the destruction and suffering of the nation is not because of the fault of another country or the world, but because of our sins.
2. When we believe that God is ( ), He listens. Verse 9 “The Lord our God has mercy and forgiveness” Let's believe that God does not cast out those who come near through prayer. Rather, let us believe that He is the One who waits for our return, prepares to be gracious, and welcomes and forgives when we return.
3. When you ask for attention ( ), you listen. Verse 19 “For Yourself” Daniel did not ask for an answer to this prayer for me or for our people. Such a prayer would have little power. But he says that this prayer is to glorify God's name, so the Lord must hear it.
The Apostle Paul prayed to God with a sad heart for his people who were not saved. They were people who did not obey God's righteousness by ignoring God's righteousness and trying to establish their own, but Paul did not hate or despise them, but prayed for them and blessed them.
