[Chief Choi] Did you find it?
Did you find it?
“According to my earnest expectation and hope, I will not be ashamed of anything, but I still have complete courage, as before, that Christ may be glorified in my body, whether by life or death, for for me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:20 ~21
(Figure 1) Now, the world is trembling with anxiety due to the Iraq war.
If you look at the news, the latest weapons appear as if it were electronic entertainment, and they broadcast saying, 'Hundreds of missiles were launched today, and dozens of planes took off today'.
(Picture 2) It feels like a testing ground for the latest weapons. So our thoughts seem to be watching this war as if we were watching a movie.
But what we need to know for sure is that on the screen we're watching like a movie, a cool missile is a monster that can take thousands of lives, and the latest stealth bomber is also a terrifying killing machine that destroys the happiness of a family.
Three Koreans are with them right now in the center of Iraq, where the typhoon of this war is raging.
(Figure 3) These are the ones. These are Han Sang-jin (38), Yoo Eun-ha (29), and Bae Sang-hyeon (28) who are members of the "Anti-Iraq Peace Team". They went directly to Iraq and played the role of so-called human shields, risking their lives in the midst of the fires of war to continue the peace movement.
Among them, Sang-Jin Han sent a will to the Seoul Anti-War Peace Team Solidarity around 2 am on the 20th. The content of the will is as follows:
"Don't find my body. I will be buried with the Iraqi people. I don't understand why America is at war, but I believe this is my way. Even if I die, I don't want any memorial service in Korea to be held about me. Please pray for us."
The fact that the evangelist introduced these three people to the precious sermon class does not mean that we should start an anti-war and peace movement together. It's just that these three young people have found something very important to risk their lives and are working hard for it.
It seems really beautiful to see those who are jumping for world peace rather than their own lives in these times when they are willing to go to war to satisfy their own greed.
Many people in this world are running hard in search of work that can risk their lives like this.
Some people are really valuable and there are people who risk their lives to do their best...
Some people say, 'It's definitely not this', but there are people who risk their lives to run away knowing that it's really the best.
(Picture 4) They are very stupid people who sell their house to buy a lottery ticket and beat their parents in order to get money. Such people do not find anything that is really important and valuable, and they risk their lives just knowing that money is the best thing in the world. Poor people.
This time I want to ask our friends.
(Figure 5) Did you find it? Did you find something really valuable and important?
If you want to find something really valuable and valuable, I want to help you through today's sermon.
“The purpose of my life is to reveal the glory of Christ throughout my life whether I live or die. For me, Christ is my everything. And death is no problem for me.”
(Picture 6) The Apostle Paul is now in prison while preaching the gospel. And it must have been very difficult for Paul's body to endure the pain that he suffered so much.
Even in that prison, Paul is rather worried about the church he has evangelized and built, and is writing a letter of encouragement to that church.
Without thinking about their own body, they boast only of Jesus in the midst of suffering.
Paul is crazy. It was not crazy, but because he found something really valuable and precious, he risked his life and his life on it.
(Picture 7) Paul met Jesus with a strong light on the way to Damascus to catch and kill those who believed in Jesus, and he became completely crazy about Jesus.
(Picture 8) Because of Jesus, he never married, and he went through countless times of death because of Jesus. He preached only Jesus for the rest of his life, and eventually ended his life in prison because of Jesus.
Looking at this alone, Paul may seem like a crazy person.
But ten thousand words... No one says that Paul is crazy when he sees him. Rather, I admire the life Paul lived and I want everyone to really live like him. Why?
When other people met the same Jesus whom Paul risked his life for and the Jesus whom Paul risked his whole life, everyone knew that Jesus was really valuable and precious, and that he was worth risking his life for.
So, after Paul in the Bible, hundreds of millions of people have come to know and believe in Jesus, and so many people have put their lives on Jesus like Paul, and thanks to that, Christianity has grown so quickly in this land.
Many people risked their lives to believe in Jesus!
Jesus, whom many people risked their lives for! We believe in that Jesus now.
I'm going to ask myself and my friends one serious question today. (Picture 9) How precious and valuable is Jesus, whom many people risked their lives to believe and preach?
Are you perhaps in a worse position than the uncle next door?
Do you think that I am only one person in history that has nothing to do with me?
(Figure 10) Jesus did not die on the cross for us so that we could receive such treatment.
It was by no means that he had loved us so long to be nothing to us.
The reason Jesus came to this earth and the reason that Jesus generously threw his life on the cross was because he loved me so much.
Jesus, who is nothing, thought of me as the best, loved me the most, and showed the greatest love through the cross.
That Jesus still loves me the most.
Whether we know it or not, Jesus' supreme love for us will continue forever.
But Jesus really wants us to understand. Through our lips we know how much Jesus loves us
“Jesus is the best for me too. To me, Jesus is the most precious person and the most valuable.” He wants to hear such a confession.
We want to share that confession at this time. If we believe how much Jesus loves me and that the cross that Jesus died on is for us, through our lips at this time, "Jesus is the best for me. I love Jesus the most. The most precious thing to me is Jesus."
We want to spend time praying together.
