Sermons for Preaching

Don't forget the title next! (Psalm 102:12-28)

Contents

When extreme pain comes into our lives for one reason or another, no one can take the place of that pain and no one can fully understand it. Due to the problem of pain, sometimes we are completely exhausted from eating and drinking with anxiety and worry, and sometimes we suffer from trouble sleeping at night. However, the reason we never get frustrated or fall is because there is a God who hears our prayers. When we come to God with a problem of suffering and cry out earnestly, that cry reaches the throne of God, and God gives us rest with unspeakable comfort and peace.

“The Lord hath looked upon the prayers of the needy, and did not despise their prayers” (verse 17).

“The LORD looked down from his high sanctuary, and looked from heaven to earth, for he heard the groaning of the prisoners, and set free those who were condemned to die” (verses 19-20).

God is not a distant God.

He is not too far away to hear our prayers.

Regardless of our circumstances, He hears our prayers, listens to our prayers, and watches over us. And finally, He frees us from the problem of suffering. How grateful we are to know that such a God is our God!

However, we should not only realize that God hears our prayers and answers our prayers through the words of Psalm 102 in the midst of severe suffering.

We need to know why He hears our prayers and solves our pain.

Of course, when you see your children groan in their pain, you can pity them and simply show them mercy.

However, if we take a careful look at Psalm 102:21 today, we will discover that God has a greater purpose in answering our prayers.

“that the name of the Lord might be proclaimed in Zion and his honor in Jerusalem” (verse 21).

If we suffer because of impossible things that cannot be solved by human strength, and the problem is solved through God's help, we should praise God, who is the solver of the problem. We must glorify the God who has accomplished it and proclaim His omnipotence to others. But how often do you not? How many times have we changed our minds just as our minds are different when entering and leaving the bathroom?

Are you struggling with a painful problem right now?

I hope that we can earnestly cry out to God and pray. Surely God will hear and answer that prayer. However, never forget the next step. Rather, the next may be more important. It is to remember without forgetting that God has solved the problem of suffering, and it is to praise God and proclaim God because of it. We should always be grateful to God, who has done great things in our lives and me, and we should be able to proclaim it to others.
