Faith without works
About 2: 14-22
One of the words that someone has always emphasized and insisted on is this:
A person should always have four virtues.
1. Love the country.
2. Be loyal to the leader.
3. Observe national laws.
4. And have strong courage to overcome trials.
That sounds like a good word. no that's a good thing It's kinda close. words worth putting into practice.
But who said it? That's what Hitler said.
The moment you heard that it was Hitler's words, your feelings must have changed drastically. Would you like to put into practice what Hitler said?
No one wants to do that.
why? Because they know who Hitler is. It's because he's a person who doesn't have the guts to admire.
But if the four virtues he spoke of had been done by African saints Schweitzer or Mother Teresa, people would be more moved and put into practice.
What is important is who said these words rather than what they said.
Hitler occasionally meditated on the Bible, but when he saw him he did not say that he had a good faith or that he was a Christian.
Who does what is more important than what you do.
The life of the saints is called the “life of faith.” For believers, faith is the basis of life.
To that extent, since faith is the basis of life in the life of the believer, the believer must have right faith along with great faith.
Through the words of this text, we hear the amazing word that even demons have faith.
It is “faith to know that there is one God”.
This is referring to the knowledge component of faith.
But even the demons have this kind of faith, that is, the knowledge of God.
It is the faith to know that there is only one God.
The faith of our saints is not such a belief.
It must be faith that accompanies works and life.
People must be consistent in their words and actions. Words and deeds must be in harmony.
We need to go further than that and be in unity. It means that faith and works must be in harmony.
In Luke 16, we find the parable of the rich man and Lazarus.
The rich ate well and lived well. Lazarus was a beggar and lived in front of a rich man's gate. But things changed after these two died. The rich man was put into hell, and the beggar Lazarus was put into the arms of Abraham.
Why did the rich go to hell? Is it because you tormented a poor beggar? Is it because you hated others?
Are you living better than others?
The Bible does not condemn being rich.
Because God has given us the blessing of being fruitful and multiplying.
The important thing here is that he showed no interest in his neighbor, giving to and sharing with people who were poorer and in need than me.
Today's Bible describes our faith in two ways.
The first is a living faith and the second is a dead faith.
What is a living faith? It's about having a sense of community.
It is not a faith that lives alone and for me.
In addition, it must be a faith that lives for all. The church is the body of Christ.
The saints are members of Christ. There are several parts of the body. There are visible parts - eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hands, feet, etc. - and invisible parts - liver, stomach, heart, kidneys, etc. All of these members are different. There is no such thing. Therefore, the eyes cannot replace the nose. Each is different, but also one.
The reason why it is called one is because the body becomes whole only when it is in the place where it should be.
Although our hands hurt, our whole body feels pain.
As such, if any one person is having difficulties among the saints, I hope you realize that it is your difficulties and the person who helps you is a saint with living faith.
Saints and saints are not separate, but connected.
That is why we become one church and the body of Christ.
If the saints and the saints are separated from each other, the church cannot become a complete church.
There are 5 chapters and 6 steps in our body. Are they saying they don't know each other because the internal organs are separate?
no. They are connected to each other and give and receive help as needed, without having to speak.
Because that's how you know you're healthy.
So is the church.
Reconsider your beliefs, rethink your character, rethink your behavior,
If we separate those who have good faith and those who do not,
If you look at people with good personalities and people with bad personalities separately,
If we look at those who behave justly and those who do not, the church will inevitably be divided.
You can't do this side because you like it, or the other side because you don't like it. At that moment, it becomes not a church.
God doesn't want this kind of relationship.
We need to become the church of God, the saints of God who love and support each other and encourage each other while believing that God works.
To become a saint of God, to become a church of God, you must act.
Verse 18 says, “By your faith without works, I will show you my faith with works.”
Our faith is made visible. It cannot be hidden. What does it look like? It is doing.
You should not be the one who puts a tombstone in a cemetery when you die, but one who lives and sets a tombstone in the hearts of many.
What does it mean for you to build a tombstone no matter how big it is when you die?
Truly, our tombstones should be monuments erected in people's hearts.
It should be written in the heart.
It will be a more wonderful and wonderful monument of faith than a tombstone.
Therefore, we must demonstrate our faith by doing it.
We should show our love and deeds toward our neighbor, not as we wear “Christian” on our foreheads, carry crosses, and carry Bibles.
Not only that, but it must also be shown as an act of keeping the incision of faith in Jesus.
In social life, there are times when you lose money because of your faith in Jesus.
However, to the end, you must show that you are a Christian who believes in Jesus and live as a believer without compromising with the world.
We must be loyal to our faith being shown until the day God calls us.
Even if you do not wear a cross necklace, “You are a deacon.”,
Even if you don't wear a cross badge, you have to be told, “You are a pastor.”
I hope that we will become saints of faith who live by showing people how to live in this world.
Living faith is not knowledge. “Do you believe that there is one God? Even demons believe and mutter. Do you want to know that faith without works is in vain?”
Intellectual faith is the faith that even demons have. But demons know the truth and do not act.
This is a ghost. You must not lead a life of faith without deeds even though you know like a demon.
People have many misconceptions and misconceptions about faith.
You are thinking of faith as thought or knowledge.
If someone has a lot of knowledge about the Bible and knows a lot about the church in general, I think he is a really good person.
But if the knowledge that is known in one's head does not appear through his actions, that person's knowledge is useless and dead knowledge.
Your types of swim include backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke, and butterfly.
In this way, if a person who attends a church claims to have faith in himself and does not act on that belief, is that person's faith true?
What is clear is that a person's faith is nothing if he says he has faith and does not have works.
Faith that is not shown by works is not faith. When we show our faith through our actions, we can finally say that we are a person of faith, whether we have great faith or small faith.
Faith is in action, not in theory.
Faith is perfected through works, and it becomes a living, dynamic, and powerful faith.
A living faith with works is an act of obedience and obedience.
Abraham's righteousness came from obedience and works.
Now is the time to test our faith.
How would you prove that you believe in Jesus?
Would you like to prove it with your Bible? Would you like to prove that you come to church on Sunday?
That's right. But more important than them is to prove it by our actions.
I hope that you will prove to yourself that you love God with all your heart and all your soul, keep His commandments, and love your neighbors as yourself.
I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will enjoy blessings and grace on this earth through living faith with works and eventually come to that heaven.
