Luke 15:1-7 Search for what is lost Topic: 11. Salvation. 2006. 12. 17.
◎ Introduction
: Luke 15 contains three parables. God who finds and welcomes lost sinners
It deals with amazing love.
① Lost sinners (sheep) and (1-7)
② Repentant sinners (drachma) and (8~10)
③ God’s love for finding and welcoming lost sinners (11~24)
※ The parable in this text is the parable of the lost sheep abandoned in a desolate world.
1. Tax collectors and sinners come to Jesus (separation) (1-3)
One). Publicans and sinners “all” drew near to Jesus.
①They were hungry for the words of Jesus. : Because of spiritual need.
②They acknowledged the great need
* Publicans: Publicans were working for the conqueror of Rome. As a result, they were considered traitors (eg pro-Japanese).
* Sinners: prostitutes (compare Matt. 21:35), liars, thieves, murderers, etc. They were immoral and unrighteous people who did not keep the law.
※ Because they (the tax collectors and sinners) know that they are also sinners, they gathered to Jesus, who is preaching about salvation and the hope of the kingdom of God.
2). The attitude of the religious people (the Pharisees and the scribes) was tragic.
※ Jesus complained about having fellowship with poor sinners and eating.
※ Important point: Jesus did not belong to the world, but He came to this world for God's sake.
(Liberals and separatists overlook this point)
3). those who truly believe
① Become a child of God. (2 Corinthians 6:17~18)
Believers do not come into the world to do worldly things and converse with sinners. (Eph 4:29, Col 4:6)
② We must go all over the world and preach the gospel to all people (Mark 16:15).
Go to the world, not wait.
