Leviticus 25:13-22 Observe and do according to the law Topic: 10. Commandments, ordinances. 2008. 9. 21.
◎ Introduction: God gave the Sabbath, Sabbath, and Jubilee.
※ Laws related to the sabbatical year (25:2-7)
1. Sabbath
※ As the earliest evil Sabbath, God rested on the 7th day immediately after the creation of the universe.
※ The 7th day is the day of the Lord and must be kept holy. People were to be used only for rest and worship.
2. sabbatical year
※ God has ordained the seventh year as a sabbatical year for His people.
※ During the sabbatical year, the land must be left untouched and undeveloped.
※ This gave his people a law on sabbatical in order to protect the soil.
1) The sabbatical taught God's people to trust and depend on Him.
* You must trust that God will give you enough rain and good seeds for 6 years, that you will keep the crops from pests and diseases, that you will give them good weather and abundant harvest.
2) You must not be greedy on the sabbatical year
* He was being trained to obey God's commandments by keeping the sabbatical year (Ex. 20:17).
* They failed to keep 70 sabbaticals in 490 years.

* They have more time to study the law and pray.
* God wants us to live in His word and prayer.

* This is a symbol of the rest of redemption, that is, the spiritual rest that God promises to the believer. (Hebrews 4:9-11)
3. Lessons are factual.
※ We must trust God for our livelihood. (Food, clothing, housing....)
※ God's promise is that if we seek Him first, He will meet the needs of our lives.
(Matthew 6:33, Phil 4:19, Ex 23:25, 29:9, Deut 30:9, Psalm 31:19; 68:19; 132:15.)
1. Jubilee ordinance (13~17)
※ The sabbatical year is not everything. He arranged the Jubilee and allowed the festival of liberation, liberty, and redemption.
* The message “Declare liberty to the people of the country” engraved on America’s “Freedom Bell” (10)
