Forgive your brothers, focusing on each title!
Even though we Christians today cannot show the true face of the Lord at home or to our unbelieving neighbors, we should not do things that insult the Lord. Every human being has a sinful nature (disposition) left in their hearts, so it is impossible to not sin, but even after committing a sin, a believer must first reach out to him and ask for forgiveness and reconciliation. In today's text, Peter said, "Lord! If my brother sins against me, how many times will I forgive him?” The Lord tells him to forgive seventy times seven times. In doing so, the Lord uses the parable of the debtor to teach us today's believers in detail how to behave and live toward unbelievers and neighbors.
Continuing, the Lord said, “If you do not forgive your brother from the heart of each one, so will my heavenly Father do to you.” He said, “I shed blood for you on the cross. Not only that, but we are preparing a place to lead you to a better place. However, you are judging and condemning your brothers and sisters recklessly, disobeying the Holy Spirit that I received and sent from you and do not live according to the Word. Then they may pretend to be righteous and repent. If you continue to hate and forgive your brothers in your heart, I will never forgive you.”
We do not know how much we have forgiven ourselves from the Lord. Because his grace cannot be calculated by the things of this world. Even now, we cannot live even for a moment without his grace. This is because the sins (dispositions) that remain in our hearts do not leave us alone for even a moment. Nevertheless, if we forget all the grace we have received from the Lord, and if a brother or a neighbor harms me even a little, I hate him mercilessly and turn my back on him. Forgiveness is not even trying to do it with your fingernails. And yet, when he falls on his face, he humbly calls on the name of the Lord. What will the Lord say when you see me like this? For those who don't understand, think for a moment as you are in the Lord's shoes! And what would you say to yourself?
We must first realize ourselves. How much have I forgiven... ! And when you realize, you must forgive your brother. We must forgive our brothers from the heart, not just with our lips. Only then can I, on the last day, be forgiven of my sins (disposition) from the Lord. Dear all! I pray in the name of the Lord that all of you will forgive your brothers from the bottom of your heart and that you will be praised by the Lord on the last day.
