The people of Israel were recognized by God and chosen as God's people through one man, Abraham, before any other peoples in the world. To be chosen as God's people means to be clearly separated from the people of the world who live without life. At least, these are those who have received the commandment to be kept from God, and those who have been given grace to realize that they are sinners through that commandment. They are people who are distinctly different from the people of the dead world. However, this does not mean that they have not yet been sealed as perfect people of the kingdom of God. In order for them to participate in the kingdom of God, they can only participate in the kingdom of God after they have been recognized as 'righteous' through the Son sent by God.
However, either they had already become “righteous” themselves before the arrival of their son, or they broke the law and pursued the pleasures of the flesh, and then they became slaves to sin and were wandering in darkness. God sent his son into the world as promised when the time came, but no one saw him and understood him, and no one came before him. This is because, in a word, he believed only in his ancestor, Abraham, and was not trying to obtain the fruit of faith, but only the fruit of lineage. If they wanted to receive the fruit of their faith, it would have been possible only if they realized that they were sinners, and when they knew that, they would have known that someone who would take away their sins had to come. However, since they themselves became “righteous,” they only knew that the Messiah, who would come, was the one who solved their physical problems. Thus, although they were chosen as God's people, they did not believe in the Son God had sent and were cast out of the kingdom of God.
Israel was thus broken from grafting with God. They did not realize that the Son had the power to graft in God. Now that blessing has passed to the Gentiles. In other words, the Gentiles, who had not yet believed, had a golden opportunity to be grafted into God. Gentiles are people who have become spiritual people of God by holding on to the headstone that the Israelites rejected. Becoming a spiritual people of God is a far greater blessing than the people of Israel at that time were chosen from among the many nations of the world. At that time, the people of Israel did not take care of the people of Israel while God indwelled them directly, but through Jehovah God. Therefore, the purpose that God intended is the same as then and now, but it is very different from that time.
The present Gentiles who became spiritual people of God through the shedding of Jesus' blood are clearly telling the difference between their status and the world through the Holy Spirit. However, the Gentiles should not be proud of themselves. If they call on the name of Jesus and become the spiritual people of God, without imitation of his 'faith', and go around saying that they have become God's people, they will inevitably fall into the devil's snare. “Therefore, let him who thinks he is standing take heed lest he fall” (1 Corinthians 10:12). Even Gentiles, if they live by imitating the Lord’s ‘faith’, must realize that they are sinners. He who realizes his sin will also seek the One who can take away his sin. The Lord will surely meet those who humble themselves in this way. Thus, such a person will meet the Son sent by God and will be grafted into God.
