Title: Seek Hara (Prayer)
Text: Matthew 7:7-11
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you If you, the evil one, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him?
We pray that God's great grace will be with the worshipers. I pray that you will be strong, physically and mentally, even for a week in the sweltering heat. Today, I would like to proclaim the Word with the title of “Ask” centering on the text.
One of the privileges God has given to us believers is prayer. Prayer is a great privilege given only to us believers. He also said, “Ask, and it will be given to you.” The Lord commands us to “ask” and promises to answer, “and it will be given to you.
Then I would like to talk about why we should pray. The word prayer is expressed in about 30 words in the original Greek and Hebrew texts. This shows how important prayer is.
1. We must know what is the fundamental reason for praying.
(1) Because it is an act of bringing God into my heart.
The Hebrew word for prayer “kara” means “to invite, to invite”. Prayer is the act of bringing God into your heart. Therefore, not praying is like keeping the Lord outside. If there is no interest, no conversation, no thinking, no longing, the door to prayer is closed.
However, I believe that the moment when I seek the Lord, appeal to the Lord, and cry out to God is the time to have the Lord in my heart and discuss with the Lord.
(2) This is because it is the act of receiving our wishes from God.
