Once upon a time, a young man was promised to marry a beautiful young woman. One day the young man was standing on a street corner when he saw an unbridled horse galloping frantically with the woman he loved. The young man ran and grabbed the bridle, stretched out and finally stood up, but he was trampled under the horse's hoof and left to the brim. Seeing the fiancee who ran down, tired of blue, the young man took one last breath and said: 'I loved you.'
We were tied behind the frantic galloping horses of the sin of darkness, and we were rushing towards death and hell. At that time, Jesus did not take care of his own body, but went up on Mount Calvary and laid down his life for us. Jesus is speaking to us. “I loved you,” he said.
The prophet Isaiah prophesied about Jesus, "Surely he bore our sorrows and bore our sorrows, but we thought that he was chastised, struck by God, and afflicted. He was pierced for our transgressions, and he For our iniquities were bruised, and from his punishment we have peace, and from his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; He has given you the burden." (Isaiah 53:4-6)
It tells us that it was because of my sufferings, transgressions, and sins that Jesus suffered sorrow, suffering, piercings, whips, and death on the cross.
That's right. Because of my sins, Jesus, who was innocent of any sin, suffered that great suffering and death, and because of that, I lived. He was spared eternal punishment and gained eternal life.
Dear saints, Christianity starts here. It is through faith in Jesus Christ that we have eternal life. I have no merit here, and it is purely because of God's free grace.
I called today's title "Guess the code J", where J stands for Jesus.
One day, by the grace of God, we came to believe in Jesus, and because of that, we received eternal life and became a child of God. That is, my life was tailored to this J code.
It's like a machine that doesn't work no matter how much code is plugged in, and a machine expert comes and makes a new code for the machine, so it works the moment you plug it into the code.
And it is common sense that this machine always works only when it is plugged into the code made by a professional.
One day, the Holy Spirit moves my heart to put my life into the code of Jesus and to live a new life, a new life. The J-chord completely changed my life by being forgiven of my sins, recognized as righteous, calling God my Father, becoming a citizen of heaven, and given the title of saint, worshiping God, praying, and praising God. .
Now, it is very common sense for us to live a happy and prosperous life when our code of life always conforms to the J code.
Before I believed in Jesus, the code of my life was plugged into Satan's code. Therefore, hatred, envy, quarrels, anger, bitterness, and slander were constantly pouring into my life. Do you guys admit it?
But when my life is immersed in the code of Jesus, love, joy, peace, patience, mercy, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control pour in. No? It doesn't come out of my life? what's the reason? Now the code is plugged in incorrectly. Again, I put the code on Satan. I fell into Satan's temptation.
In today's text, Paul, who lives life in the code of Jesus, said, "If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord for the Lord.
Or maybe it's too much You might say, isn't that too much? So some say, 'Believe in Jesus, don't fall for it too much! I don't know if I'll ruin my life!' What other saints have heard such things and are they like that? And there are people who live a life of faith by controlling themselves appropriately. I just go out for Sunday worship so that I don't forget it, and if there's an event by any chance, I go out, and I think I adjust it appropriately so that I don't fall into it deeply. In other words, you plug the cord into Jesus, then into the world, then into a person, and then into your own thoughts, so you think you are in control. But it's very risky.
You shouldn't do that. Why? Verse 9 "For this purpose Christ died and was raised again, that he might be Lord of the dead and of the living." In other words, Jesus is the Lord of the living and the dead because he was raised from the dead. Even if I live, I live for the Lord, and even if I die, I die for the Lord.
Who are you in charge of your life? who will save Who is responsible when I die? As I said last week, Psalm 62:9 "Alas, man is breath, and life is deceit.
Psalm 146:3-4 "Do not trust in a strong man, nor in a man who is unable to save. A man loses his breath and returns to dust, and all his plans perish on that very day. Manda."
1 Peter 1:24 “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flowers of the field”!
No life can take responsibility for me. Only Jesus can take responsibility. Because He alone is Lord of the dead and of the living.
How do I live a life that lives for the Lord even if I live, and lives for the Lord even if I die? It must be a life of total trust and dependence on the Lord! Specifically,
1. It is 100% obedience to His Word.
'I will sing praises to the Lord on the word of the Lord for ever.' Please make sure that the Word of the Bible is of the highest priority above any other words or anyone else's.
2. Living by imitating his life.
1 Thessalonians 1:6 "You became imitators of us and of the Lord, as you received the word in much affliction with the joy of the Holy Spirit."
The first to imitate the Lord is to serve, and the second is to share. To summarize in one word, it is a sacrifice, and this is what we call carrying the cross. The result of the cross is the salvation of souls.
What is the summary of Jesus' life? Mark 10:45 “For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
Serving and sharing requires humbleness of oneself. Serving is an act that a lowly person does to a high person, and unless we humble ourselves, we can never be a servant. The same is true of complete sharing. So Jesus was thoroughly humbled, but how much? Philippians 2:5 “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider equality with God to be robbery, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. Having appeared in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of a cross." Jesus humbled himself from the highest to the lowest, but what about people? If you feel that you have been neglected a little bit, don't you run along the road and start a riot because you're considered inferior to others? Do you know why? It's because the code is missing, or it's plugged in in the wrong place.
Saints, is your code plugged into Code J? So is praise flowing from your mouth, joy from your heart, and goodness from your actions? Check your code.
