Title: Have the same purpose
After 40 years of silence, Israel is determined to cross the Jordan River and march toward the promised land of God. The 12 tribes went out armed in the name of God, but Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh demanded a land east of the Jordan River that had not been promised by God. It came, but it leads to the blessing of recognizing that the crisis has been overcome by the grace of God, the counsel of Moses, and the obedience of the Reuben and Gad tribes.
1. The tribes of Reuben and Gad claiming the land of Gilead
Knowing and demanding inconvenient movement due to too many herds of livestock
The eyes of the two tribes are eyes full of greed, dark eyes that have lost national mission and fairness
Ask for the land because it is suitable for livestock
Like Lot, who demanded Sodom and Gomorrah, it must be a beautiful place in the sight of God, not a suitable place in human eyes. (Soon God's Promise)
But the demand discourages the other tribes.
In modern times, along with democracy, individualism has overdeveloped.
In Korea, it is common to claim damages against the state.
Respect and recognition of individual liberties and rights are essential, but they must be restricted if these individual liberties or rights are at the mercy of the community as a whole.
The interests of the community and individual freedom should be mutually respected.
A Christian should not be discouraged, nor should he discourage others.
2. Moses' rebuke against the two tribes
The spies' disobedience at Kadesh-Barnea
It explains the report of the 12 spies and Israel's reaction, along with the results. At that time, too many people shouted and shook because of the reports of the faithless spies, so the leader Moses remembers and rebukes the mistake he made because he could not make the right decision of faith.
We need to be each other's strength now
Now the great battle with the 7 tribes of Canaan begins. It's time to work together and encourage each other to overcome our fears.
Now, the attack and destruction of Canaan is not just feeding livestock (flocks of sheep, cattle), but an important work in building the kingdom of God, so everyone must leave their own interests.
3. History happens when we unite
There is one God, but there are three persons in one
The Triune God also cooperated in creating the heavens and the earth and planning and fulfilling our salvation. Of course, this is not because of something lacking.
All members must work together to build the Church of God.
When planning and accomplishing something in the church, all members gain strength from each other by speaking positively and encouraging each other not to become discouraged. Eventually, when Reuben and the tribes of Gad joined the war to conquer Canaan, Israel was encouraged and united in victory. All things can be won when you do your best with the same purpose. The most difficult place for each person to fall into their own interests is the church. This is not the time to have blood ties, kinship relationships, own interests, feelings or self-interests.
In Israel, history arose when the Reuben and Gad tribes united and all the 12 tribes of Israel remembered and obeyed God's will and set out to conquer Canaan.
