Sermons for Preaching

How many titles do you have left?

How much content do you have left? (Matthew 25:20-21)

Today's text reads that one master had to go abroad, so he entrusted the servants with 5, 2, and 1 talents according to their talents. It is the story of the one who was praised by the master and received one talent, buried in the ground and brought back as it is, and what he had was taken away and thrown out. Focusing on this incident, we would like to share the grace with the title of “How much is left”.

There are talents that God has given to all of us. The first is a healthy body, the second is the mental ability to judge and chooses good and evil, the third is innate talent, the innate talent, the fourth is the acquired knowledge, skills, wealth, and the fifth talent. There is no one who has not received these five talents. The important thing is that it is not mine, it belongs to the master. (14) Slaves do not have their own. Life, property, children, wives and husbands, talents, time, all belong to the Lord. Remember, I am a servant, a servant, and a steward.

Before going to another country, the master entrusted the talent according to his talent. The owner knew very well who was good at what, what talents he had, what his personality was like. So to one servant 5 talents, to another two talents, and to another servant 1 talent. People with negative thoughts look at this text and say that the owner is not fair because they did not share it equally. However, giving the same amount does not necessarily mean that it is fair. What is fair may be unfair to some people. For example, since you gave a knife to a housewife, you cannot give a knife to a child the same way. God has given us gifts equally. He has given us talents so that we can fulfill the purpose and mission given to us. The mission God has given us is, first, the great commandment of evangelism (Matthew 28:19), and the second is the great commandment of love (Matthew 22:37-40). For these two missions, God has given us talents and talents. Therefore, we must use our talents to achieve these two missions and purposes.

According to verse 19, the day is sure to come when the master returns and asks to count. When the Lord comes, am I a good and faithful servant or an evil and lazy servant? It doesn't matter how many talents I have received, but how many I leave before the Lord. “How much missionary and evangelism have you done? How much did you love God and love your neighbor?” He asks this. I pray that we all become good and loyal servants and become the protagonists of the blessing who participate in the joy of the master.
