how to build a relationship
Romans 12:3-5
“In the same way we, who are many, are one body in Christ and members of one another” (Romans 12:5).
1. Selfishness destroys relationships.
“Where do quarrels among you come from? two” (James 4:1-2)
Altruism builds relationships.
“Let each one take care not only of his own business, but also that of others, that my joy may be full” (Philippians 2:4).
2. Pride destroys relationships.
“In pride there is only contention, but he who listens to counsel is wise” (Proverbs 13:10).
Humility builds relationships.
“Finally, be all of one mind, sympathetic, brotherly love, compassionate, humble” (1 Peter 3:8).
3. Fear destroys relationships.
“The fear of man is a snare, but he who trusts in the Lord will be safe” (Proverbs 29:25).
Love builds relationships.
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, for fear has a punishment, for the one who fears is not perfected in love” (1 John 4:18).
