How to Overcome Title Failure

How to overcome failure (John 21:1-6)

What is the Bible's standard for success and failure? Successful people have a right relationship with God, have God's help, and have been with God. However, those who failed kept away from God, neglected their relationship with God, and lived their lives as they please.

In the text, we find the figure and lessons of successful people overcoming failure. The time is right after Jesus was resurrected, and the place is the Sea of Galilee, the hometown of the disciples. Let's look at the stages in which the disciples overcame failure.

I. It is the stage of giving up (3)

We find here that the beginning of failure begins with giving up. The place where you give up and give up saying, “Nothing goes wrong, just be what you want” becomes the gateway to failure. And failure that begins with resignation and abandonment is highly contagious. Peter is taking the lead in the bad now. Then, the colleagues who were observing the situation hurriedly followed. Wouldn't it be great if you had taken the lead in doing good? In any organization, the role of those who work at the forefront is important. Those who believe first, seniors, and seniors influence many people for good or evil. The worse it is, the more contagious and brainwashing it is. Saints! We hope that you will be praised before God by not taking the lead in evil things, but taking the lead in good things.

. It is a stage of failure (3)

In Luke 5:5, it is said, “They have toiled all night and have gained nothing.” John 21:3 also says, “I did not catch anything that night.” How disappointed and disappointing would you be? The Sea of Galilee, a sea of disappointment and defeat, the sea of failure where no fish caught even when riding a boat, rowing, or throwing a net. Peter must have felt the sorrow and despair of life. Then Jesus came to visit. That sea of failure is unfolding before us today. There are times when all human means, methods, experiences, and knowledge are mobilized to no avail. There are times when I really feel powerless. In this case, there is an attitude you can take.

First, you can despair, give up, and sit down. If you do, that will be the end point.

Second, you can clench your fists, shout, and stand up to stand up again. If you have that kind of courage and unyielding will, you can stand up again. But more important is the next step.

. It is the stage of obedience (6)

How to overcome failure is presented.

1) Jesus came to the field of failure.

They failed not because the boat was old, the net was torn, or the way the net was cast was wrong. Because Jesus wasn't there. From the moment they left Jesus or were not with Jesus, they fell into failure. In other words, Jesus is the key to overcoming failure, the method, and the greatest value. Only Jesus can rebuild a failed life and start anew. Do you agree?

The same is true for religious success. When you are caught up in the thoughts of failure and giving up, you lose your strength, your face darkens, you sigh, and you become a slave to negative thinking, looking only at distant distractions.

2) Obey the Lord's word.

If you cast your net on the right side, you do it. If you go to the deep and cast your net, you do it. That was the secret to overcoming failure. Also, if the net was torn, even if they had a great success catching 153 fish, they would all have leaked out. And you will experience failure again. If 153 fish are caught in a small net, it is natural for the net to tear. But that day the net was not torn. It is because the Lord has prevented the failure that can overlap two or three times. It is because the web of recovery and success has been torn because everything we do doesn't work, our plans are broken, and our plans are broken.

Then, I need to have Jesus Christ in my life, in my boat, at work, at home, and in my business, who turns failure into recovery, defeats into success, and torn nets into new ones. I hope to become a family (business, workplace, society) that is not torn apart by serving Christ. The cross of Jesus took the place of all the failures, diseases, pains, and even death that I had to endure. Let go of doubt and distrust. Let us receive and look to Jesus Christ who was crucified. By being with the Lord, I pray that we may all be able to move from failure to success.
