Title: How will it be used?
Bible: 2 Samuel 6:1-23
Theme Verse: The ark of the Lord stayed in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom and all his house.
Introduction>>
Hallelujah!!
Say hello to the person next to you before listening to the Word.
"Love it. Congratulations.”
Today, we would like to share grace with you through the words of the text, “How will you be used?”
We believe in God, but we know that the ways in which we are used by God are different.
Some through their talents, some through their health, some through their material, some through their body... and so on.
However, there are people who receive the blessings of God while being used with what they have, and there are those who do not.
There is one reason.
Those who use it based on the Word of God will be blessed, but those who use it based on their own knowledge and experience cannot be blessed.
If you look at today's verse 6:1 23, there are four people dealing with the ark of God.
The person who moves the ‘ark of God’ and the person who looks at it, etc.
But among the four, there are those who have been blessed, and there are those who have been judged.
It is not that they thought God's work in the same way, but they did not please God when they were used. Rather, there were people who did not know God's will.
In Matthew 21:28-31, there is a parable of the two sons.
One day a father tells his eldest son to go to work in a vineyard.
The eldest son answered, “I will go,” as the father said, and did not go.
I told my younger son to go and work in the vineyard.
The younger son replied, “I will not go,” but he repented and went to work in the vineyard.
While saying these words, Jesus asks his disciples:
“Who has done the will of the Father?”
The disciples answered, “Your son.”
It's important to know who you want to write for, no matter how you do it.
And you have to bear it with faith.
Go in>>
Coming back to the main text, the task God has entrusted to Israel today is to move the ark of God.
If we look at the words of verse 1, verse 2,
“David arose and went with all the men with him to Baal-Judah to bring the ark of God from there, whose ears were called by the name of the Lord of hosts, who sat among the cherubim.”
Folks, these words are about moving the ark where the Spirit of God dwells.
How would you feel about taking on this task?
first by faith
Second, happy
Third, with gratitude.
Fourth, with devotion
...
...
However, it is not easy to become one with one heart no matter what you do.
Even within the church, there are things and people that do not necessarily have grace when doing any work.
All the saints say, “We do it with the will of God in mind,” but how can the will of God be manifested differently to believers in faith?
Is God a liar?
Does God want to create divisions in the church?
It's not like that.
So, when we do God's work, we must become saints who can say 'Amen'.
So, how are the four people in today's text reacting to moving the ark of God?
First, there are people who have no appreciation for being chosen.
If we look at the words of verse 6 of the text,
“When they came to the threshing floor in Nagon, the oxen ran, and Uzzah raised her hand and took hold of the ark of God.”
The words of chapter 6 verse 7,
“The LORD God was angry with Uzzah because of his wrongdoing, and he struck him there, and he died there by the ark of God.”
Uzzah, who was in charge of moving the ark of God, died.
Why? You should know that Uzzah was a man who was ignorant about how to move the ark of God.
The way to move the ‘ark of God’ is to carry it with people of faith, but Uzzah was trying to move it on the back of an ox.
This shows that he had no gratitude.
Since I am not thankful that I have been chosen to move the ark of God, would I have wanted to know how to move it?
Why does it have to be me in his heart!! There would have been a thought.
So, I was carrying it on the cow's back, but when the cow ran wild, I tried to calm the cow with my hands.
Therefore, when we do God's work, we must first have gratitude.
God wants to hear and use me.
How should I be used? should be able to think of
Second, he is a sarcastic person in doing God's work.
If we look at verse 20,
“Michal came out to meet David and said, “How glorious is the king of Israel today, as a prodigal man shamelessly reveals himself, so today he has revealed himself before the eyes of his servant’s maidservant.”
Michal sees the 'Ark of God' coming in and sees him sarcastic to David, who dances with joy.
When we do God's work, there are certainly such people.
A person who always complains and complains about people who work while they can't do anything.
If you're not going to do it, you'll just have to keep an eye on it, and a word of help would offend the person trying to do the work.
When praising at church, “why do you lose grace if you clap!” When you get up and do a dance, you say, “Finally, that person has gone crazy!” is it?!!" speak.
Even toward believers who donate a lot, there are people who say, “If they have a lot of money, how much money they have”.
But complaining cannot please God.
Michal in the text was punished for not having children until the day of his death because of his scorn toward David.
Third, a person with determination and dedication.
If we look at verse 10,
“David did not like to carry the ark of the Lord and carry it to himself in the city of David, but he carried it to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.”
David and many others witnessed the death of Uzzah.
David and many others who witnessed death feared God and were afraid to carry the ark of the Lord.
Someone has to do this.
At that time, Obed-edom the Gittite made a decision to step forward.
And he sees the ark going to his house.
It seems that God's work is not easy.
Sometimes God's work comes with fear.
But God, who prepares good things, does not disappoint us.
Uzzah, who was carrying the ark, died, and the king and many people are afraid and worried, but please do not forget that God is looking for people who can handle the work and who can bless them.
If we look at verse 11,
“The ark of the Lord stayed in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom and all his house.”
God did not abandon Obed-edom, who was determined and dedicated for God's work.
Not only that, but he blessed his whole house.
The same is true today.
God is looking for people who are determined and dedicated to doing His work.
It may be difficult and difficult.
But be determined.
And become a devoted saint.
God will remember your determination and dedication.
Lastly, no matter what you do, you are a saint who gives all your strength to God.
If we look at the words of verse 21,
"David said to Michal, "This is what you did before the LORD. He has left your father and all his house, and has chosen me, and made me ruler over the LORD's people Israel. I will rejoice before the LORD."
David danced as he watched the ark come in.
As Michal said, it can be shameful and shameful, but David does his best to praise God.
Example>>
There is a young man that I sometimes use as an example.
While working as an evangelist at a church, I thought that I would like to do something meaningful with the young people.
So, the conclusion was to change the pulpit of the church.
I thought it would be difficult with the youth group alone, so we shared opinions on changing the audience with the young adults.
The youth department decided to donate on its own and make a special offering.
After a while, a young man came to see me.
The young man rummaged through his pockets, pulled out a fully packed ten-thousand-won bill, and handed it to me.
And what he says is, “Evangelist, there is only this I can do right now.”
I still vividly remember the look and look of that young man back then.
At the time, the young man was attending school and majoring in guitar.
He was a young man who needed a lot of money to go to school, to take lessons, or to have pocket money.
I accepted the money offered by the young man.
And he said, “With this offering from my brother, we will be able to buy a pulpit.”
A month after that happened, I was able to purchase a pulpit that would light up the parish of the church and a project that the members would use to worship together.
What do you mean?
It was possible because there was a young man who put his best effort into even the smallest things.
Now, the young man got married a while ago, and now he has released a record book as a praise minister.
Words that come out >>
Let me give you a conclusion.
How will you be used in doing God's work?
What is important is in our posture
There must be gratitude.
It takes determination and dedication.
There must be effort.
You need a positive attitude, not a negative one.
Now, our church of service is planning and trying many things while thinking about 2009.
It will be difficult and difficult.
It will be a scary day.
Do you want to remain with complaints and dissatisfaction?
no.
As in today's text, how can a poor person like me be used by God? If you think about it, God will tell you a plan for using me and you.
In the name of the Lord, I pray in the name of the Lord that you and all the saints will go forward with faith with the expectation that God will use you for the year 2008, which is running towards the end, and the new year 2009.
