Text - James 4:10

Title - Humble before the Lord

The purpose of education is not solely on the acquisition of knowledge, but with greater emphasis on the full human being.

It is teaching and cultivating in order to become a more mature person, adapt well to society, and be a beneficial person.

Religious training for believers is also a process for achieving spiritual maturity and completeness of faith.

Although it will be difficult to be perfect, it is our duty to work hard and work hard towards this goal, ensuring that at least the following requirements are met:

Illustration - Father's Prayer

May my children become such human beings. Grant me the strength to discern myself when I am weak, the courage not to lose myself when I am afraid, to be a person who is not ashamed of honest defeat and calm, humble and meek in victory. Do not lead him in the path of luck and comfort, but learn to resist the path of trouble and pain, learn to stand up in the storm, and have compassion on the defeated. Clear his mind, set his goals high, let him rule himself before he governs others, look to the future and not forget the past. On top of that, give me a sense of humor, so that I can enjoy life while living it with solemnity, and be humble without revealing myself too much. And let us always remember that the greatest of all lies in simplicity, and that true strength lies in generosity. “So let me, his father, whisper quietly that I have not lived a life in vain.”

1. The Lord Hates Pride

It is impossible to do what he hates or hates while wishing for the Lord's blessing, but in reality, there are quite a number of such people.

These are, in a word, arrogant people.

Those who exalt themselves and are proud of themselves as if they have no flaws, even if they earnestly long for the Lord's blessings, they will never come.

Pride is the most hated attribute of the Lord.

Pride was the biggest reason that Adam and Eve were expelled from Eden.

They fell into Satan's delusion, thinking that they too could become like God.

The Bible teaches that Lucifer was an outstanding angel.

Why was he ruined?

Pride was the cause.

He forgot his situation and lifted up his heart to be like God, but he fell to the bottom of Hades.

Pride is a shortcut to destruction, and it is in the opposite direction of perfection, so it should be avoided.

Example - The Humility of St. Francis

A disciple of St. Francis (1181-1226) went to heaven in a vision.

There were many counselors, one of which was remarkably high.

So he asked the angel.

“Who is that?” The angel answered.

“It is the throne on which St. Francis, the humblest in the world, will sit.”

Hearing this, he felt envious. Then I broke the illusion.

The disciple asked the master during a quiet time one day.

“Teacher, what kind of person do you think you are?”

Then the master answered without hesitation.

"I think he's the worst person in the world"

Hearing this, the disciple did not miss the opportunity and said:

"Teacher! To say that is arrogance. That is hypocrisy.

Aren't many people calling you a saint?

The world is infested with robbers, murderers, and all kinds of wicked people. How do you say you are the worst?

Isn’t that just hypocrisy?”

This is because he was secretly jealous of the throne he saw in the vision.

Then St. Francis smiled

“It’s because you don’t know me. Really I'm a bad guy

Because God has poured out so much grace on me, I am who I am today.

If I had given the grace that was given to me to another person, that person would have been many times better than me.”

and spoke from the heart.

Only then did the disciple properly recognize the master.

Then I got down on my knees and made a big bow.

Where is your humility today?

2. All We Have is Yours

The Bible teaches that everything we have, including our lives, is “the Lord's.”

Many are eager to take possession of what the Lord has freely given, and from which he can at any time take it back.

We are free to use what the Lord gives us, so we should not be conceited or disrespectful of others because of the large amount of it.

To those who asked the greatest virtue of Christianity, Augustine answered that the first, the second, and the third were all humility.

We may boast something in front of men, but not in the presence of God. You have to humble yourself. This is the first step towards perfection.

Great things are found in those who think that I am nothing and behave humbly.

It is never easy for people to agree with their words and deeds or their divine deeds.

It is easy to say and easy to teach, but it is not so easy and simple to put it into action in your own life.

But our Lord set an example by doing everything he taught.

The practice of faith, this is the culmination of a perfect life, a perfect faith.

Therefore, believers must learn these aspects of the Lord.

A horse, no matter how smooth and beautiful, is no substitute for execution.

Anyone can do just words.

When Christians value actions rather than words, the world's view of the church will change.
