Title: I'm Near (1 Peter 4:7-11)
Ebola out of control The global village is trembling The spread of the Ebola virus has killed more than 800 people in Africa.
Matthew 24 speaks of the signs of calamity.
3 When Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, his disciples came quietly and said, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and the end of the world?"
4 Jesus answered and said to them, "Beware that no one deceives you. 5 Many will come in my name, saying, I am the Christ, and will deceive many. 6 You will hear about wars and wars, but beware and do not be afraid. There must be, but the end is not yet. 7 Nations will rise against nations and kingdoms against kingdoms, and there will be famines and earthquakes in many places 8 and all these will be the beginning of calamity. 9 Then people will hand you over to tribulation, and I will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of my name. 10 At that time many will stumble and hold each other and hate each other. 11 Many false prophets will arise and deceive many. 12 Iniquity will increase, and the love of many will be. 14 This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
The text tells us that the end of the seventy thousand things is near, therefore, be sober and sober and pray.
The end of all things is near... The end is when the Lord returns. God sees the situation at any time and comes to pick us up and judge us. It is said to be coming.
That is why we are told to be sober and sober and pray.
The mind refers to having self-control as opposed to madness (2 Corinthians 5:13), not crazy about the world, but about being crazy about God but the opposite is true. Self-discipline is to have a sound mind.. The prayer life offered in this kind of mental discipline is the eschatological attitude of faith.
Psalm 35:13 I afflicted my soul by fasting in sackcloth when they were sick, and my prayer has returned to my bosom.
How did David pray while he was in a cave to escape Saul?
Psalm 57:8 “Awake, my glory, awake, lyre, harp; I will awaken the dawn.”
Luke 21:36 “Therefore, watch and pray always, that ye may be able to escape all these things that are to come, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Daniel 6:9 Then King Darius put the king's seal on the decree and issued a ban. 10 Even though Daniel knew that the decree had been stamped with the king's seal, Daniel went back to his house and went upstairs to the upper room, opened the window toward Jerusalem, and issued a ban. Three times a day he knelt down and prayed, as he had done, and gave thanks to his God.
Luke 22:40 And when he came to that place, he said to them, Pray that you will not fall into temptation.
Since all things are at hand, we hope that you and I will be sober, sober and praying.
2) We must love each other passionately.
8 Above all else, love one another passionately, because love covers a multitude of sins.
He tells us to love each other passionately as the end of all things draws near.
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God. For God is love. 9 The love of God is to us It has been revealed that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
He loved us so that we might live until he gave his only begotten Son, so it is right that we should love.
10 Here is love, not that we loved God, but that God loved us and sent his Son as a propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is made perfect in us. 17 In this way love is made perfect in us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgment. As the Lord is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has its punishment. The one who fears is not perfected in love. 19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever says, “I love God” Anyone who hates his brother is a liar. He who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 This commandment has been given to us from the Lord. He who loves God must also love his brother. I hope that you and I, who love you passionately, will become this close.
