I can't go out without a title (4:9-11)
Content: The word that cannot go out without a call (4:9-11)
In the face of the crisis of the nation's destruction, Mordecai's desperate plea for Esther and the story of Esther unable to go before the king without the king's call are told.
This is the life of human affairs, as if there was no chance in front of the fate of the nation in front of destruction. In such a case, we can see that God's work is approaching us in a dramatic way.
Hardak delivers Mordecai's words to Esther.
1. I can't go without a call
* Mordecai is demanding Queen Esther's help in order to get out of the dire situation in which the entire Jewish population will be slaughtered.
* Esther, who received Mordecai's request, had a difficult time accepting the request. = The reason was that he could not go before the king without the king's call. / If you violate this rule, you will die.
* In the Vasa Empire, with the exception of a few, it was strictly controlled to go to the palace. = You must have the king's call to see the king.
(Matthew 22:11-12) “When the king came in to see his hand, he saw a man there without a robe and said, “Friend, why did you come in here without a robe?”
(Esther 2:14) “In the evening he went, and in the morning he returned to the second concubine, and was under the control of the eunuch Saasgas, who was in charge of the concubines.
2. King's Gold Scepter
* In Persia, if a person who is not called by the king goes to the palace due to unavoidable circumstances, the king must hold out a gold scepter to survive. = This law was enacted to protect the personal life of the king and was strictly observed.
* The golden scepter is a long, pointed stick that the king always carries in his right hand, and has the power to kill and save lives.
(Esther 7:7) “The king got up in anger and left the banquet and went into the royal palace. Haman got up and saved the life of Queen Esther, knowing that the king was determined to bring his wrath against him.”
3. Esther in a difficult situation
* At Mordecai's request, Esther says that she has not seen the king for a month. This means that revealing one's situation is not an evasion of responsibility, but the strictness of the law, and it is also saying that his actions are a decision at the crossroads of life and death.
(Matthew 16:24) “Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
