I can't leave a single one
Pharaoh of Egypt symbolizes Satan. Satan constantly attacks us with elaborate steps to deceive and overthrow us. I want to own at least the bare minimum. But Jesus' voice toward Satan is firm. “You can’t leave even one.”
Pharaoh called Moses and said, "Go and serve the LORD, but your sheep and cattle remain, and your little ones go with you." Moses said, "Even the king must give us sacrifices and burnt offerings to the LORD our God, and our livestock shall go with us, and not one shall be left, for we will take from them to serve the LORD our God, and we For you do not know with what kind of service you are to serve the LORD until you get there.” Exodus 10:24-26
You can think of Exodus as one great model of salvation. Egypt is the model of the world, Pharaoh is the model of Satan, and Moses is the model of Jesus Christ. And the land of Canaan is a model of heaven. And the parting of the Red Sea and crossing the Red Sea is a pattern of baptism.
That's why 1 Corinthians 10:2 says, "All of them belonged to Moses, and were baptized in the cloud and in the sea." Therefore, leaving Egypt under the guidance of Moses, crossing the Red Sea, and entering the land of Canaan means growing spiritually through being baptized and experiencing life in the wilderness on the journey to heaven from the world and sins under the guidance of Jesus Christ. will be
A person whose heart is filled with the Holy Spirit does not have a deceitful heart like Nathanael. However, those who are under Satan's control are deceitful and lie like a loaf of bread. Therefore, through the book of Exodus, we would like to examine how this Satan's deception is manifested through the language of King Pharaoh.
Satan's deception
Even though Moses testifies of God's command to let my people go, King Pharaoh does not listen to them. However, as God continued to send the ten plagues, they backed away little by little and eventually sent the people away only after the tenth plague, the death of all the firstborn. And if we look at the language of King Pharaoh that appeared in the process, we can see the tricks that appear step by step when Satan works.
The fourth of the ten plagues is the plague of Paris. When the plague of Paris came, Pharaoh began to retreat for the first time. “Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron and said, ‘Go and sacrifice to your God in this land’” (Exodus 8:25). King Pharaoh said that it is good to offer sacrifices to God, but do not go into the wilderness and offer them in the land of Egypt.
At that time, Moses' answer was firm. “It is impossible” (Exodus 8:26). Moses' answer is simple. “If we sacrifice in the sight of the Egyptians, will they not hate it and stone us? Will we ever be stoned? Why would you sacrifice to Jehovah God in the land of Egypt? So I can’t.”
Then Pharaoh made a compromise as a second step. “And Pharaoh said, I will send you away, and you shall sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness, but do not go too far” (Exodus 8:28). Go to the wilderness, but don't go too far. Even if you believe in Jesus, don't believe too much, come and go for an hour without anyone knowing only on Sundays, and don't come to the evening service or Wednesday prayer meeting, don't come all night, ah, donate! He whispers, “Why do you tithe because you just need to do a little on a week?” This is Satan's strategy.
After Moses prayed and collected the swarms, King Pharaoh hardened his heart again and did not even obey the instructions to the Israelites, “Do not go too far.” So, isn't it that the calamities keep increasing? Plagues, poisons, and hail continue. King Pharaoh, unable to withstand the hail disaster, retreats a little further. tell Moses. “Who will go to serve the LORD your God?” (Exodus 10:8). Ask as if you're interested. To this Moses answered, “We will keep a feast before the Lord, and we will bring men and women, young and old, and sheep with us” (Exodus 10:9). Then the king Pharaoh said, “It is impossible for him, so go only your men and serve the Lord, for this is what you are asking for” (Exodus 10:11).
But even after that, King Pharaoh hardened his heart and did not let him go. God sent another plague of locusts, in which the locusts came and ate up what the hail had left behind. The locusts ate up all the vegetables and fruits of the field, leaving nothing green in all Egypt. So he immediately lowers his tail and says, “I have sinned against the Lord, please forgive me this time.” “Forgive me only this time” This is the devil's exclusive term.
Asking for forgiveness just this one time, Moses prayed to God and the locust plague disappeared. However, King Pharaoh asks for forgiveness only this time, and hardens his heart again, so he does not let the Israelites go. Then came the ninth plague.
As Moses raised his hand toward heaven, darkness fell upon the land of all Egypt. It was dark and people couldn't recognize each other. Light fell on the land of Goshen, where the Israelites lived, but darkness came over all of Egypt, and it was so dark that it was impossible to recognize anyone, so it was impossible to know who my family was. How frustrating is it to have to stay like this for three days? Finally, Baro says. “Pharaoh called Moses and said, ‘Go and serve the Lord, but let your sheep and cattle remain, and your little ones go with you’” (Exodus 10:24). I gave up a lot.
Still, Moses is adamant. “Moses said, “Even the king must give us sacrifices and burnt offerings to the LORD our God, and our livestock shall go with us, and not one shall be left, for we will take from them to serve the LORD our God. For you do not know with what kind of service the LORD is served until you get there.” It is Moses' decisive decision that not even one can be left behind.
Here we can also clearly see what Satan's strategies and tactics are. If you can't have all of them, you'll want to have some. If we were all deprived of Jesus Christ, we would have some of them. even if everything is stolen
