I. those who came to Egypt
1. to live in egypt
The text of verse 1 is the same as Genesis 46:8. Jacob's descendants, Abraham's descendants, escaped the crisis by migrating to Egypt, where Joseph was the prime minister, due to the famine that struck the land of Canaan at the time. At that time, there were 70 members of the Jacob family who moved to Egypt, and if you combine them with Joseph's family in Egypt, there were 75 members. Israel's life in Egypt seems to have been smooth. In Genesis 47:27, it says, “The house of Israel dwelt in the land of Goshen, Egypt, and obtained a livelihood there, and was fruitful and multiplied.” This expression appears again in Exodus 1:7. The life of Egypt, which began with the migration of 70 people, grew and prospered over 400 years, becoming a great nation, the children of Israel. Egypt is the place where the small tribe of Jacob and the family grow into a large nation of Israel.

Ⅲ. Pharaoh's Wisdom
1. Pharaoh's Worries
Why would Pharaoh not want to know Joseph? Why did you not want to remember Joseph and to be considerate of the children of Israel? What did Israel do to terrorize Pharaoh? What Pharaoh was concerned about was the number of the children of Israel. Of course, I wasn't afraid of the number itself. I was worried about joining forces with the enemy. At the same time, I am worried that I might join the enemy army and come to take over the country. Now the new king fears that this multitude of peoples may join the enemy in a coup d' tat and be ousted from the throne.
2. Pharaoh's Wisdom
What Pharaoh is suggesting is to ‘walk wisely.’ Pharaoh was the monarch, and when he did this, he did not give orders, but petitions to the people. Verse 10 says, “Come, let us be wise toward them.” Not only Pharaoh but all the Egyptians did it with one heart and one will. A monarch is always portrayed as imposing. But in reality it is not. Among the king and the people, whoever makes this proposal is the king. This is what the king said, “I am afraid.” It is only natural that Pharaoh did this. The words of the ruler are always ‘for the people’. Saying that the people of Israel are trying to get rid of ‘King Pharaoh’ makes no sense. That is why the people move when they always say that the Israelite people want to rule over the country of Egypt and the people of Egypt. That is why he appointed his people to be overseers of the children of Israel.
3. Consequences of foolish wisdom
Pharaoh acted wisely. Not only Pharaoh but all the Egyptians united and proceeded according to their plan. However, as in verse 12, “But the more they were abused, the more they prospered and spread.” Contrary to their plans and intentions, the exact opposite result occurred. Of course, what would the Egyptians feel? The second half of verse 12 says, “The Egyptians were grieved over the children of Israel.” What started out as a little worry at first has now become a real fear. What did Israel do? did nothing. Sinners worry about themselves, worry about themselves, and become unhappy with themselves. You can enjoy a happy life only when you follow God's principles. *
