Now, what do our friends love the most among school supplies? Art lover? What do you write in art class? Evangelist brought crayons, colored pencils, and colored ballpoint pens here. But, huh? How many are these? (11) How many should there be? Ok? By the way, do you have a friend who has lost one color among them? How did you feel? Did you find other colors more precious, or did you just remember the missing colors? So, how did you do it? How did you try to find it? Finally, did you find it? How did you feel when you found it? Aren't you proud that you found it? So, is that the story that only the lost color matters? What if you lose another color? Would you feel the same way? What's wrong? Because each one is equally precious and cherished. It is equally valuable, but if one is lost, the owner will be sad until he finds it. It's because I lost something precious.
Today's Bible also tells the story of a woman who lost what she loved. I don't know if it's a married woman or an unmarried lady. By the way, how many coins did this lady have? By the way, how many of them did you lose? This coin is a drachma, and one drachma was said to have cost a little more than an adult's daily wage at the time. One drachma today would be around tens of thousands of dollars. This woman cherishes and cherishes her, and she has collected ten of these precious coins. Even if you wanted to eat your own food, even if you wanted to be patient and buy clothes, you would have saved it with patience. Was this money valuable to this woman or not? As the evangelist knows, in Israel at the time of Jesus, when they were getting married, they collected ten coins and woven them to decorate their heads as wedding gifts. So, how precious was this coin to this woman?
But one day, while counting these ten coins again, I stopped dropping them. It wouldn't have been that hard to find if it was like the elementary school room here. However, this woman was not easy to find. Because, in this house where ordinary people of Israel lived, there was only one small window, so the room was not very bright. In addition, there were a lot of rice huts and haystacks in the house, so finding the fallen coins was as difficult as finding a needle. But, would this woman give up because it was difficult to find? (No.) Why? Ok. Because it was so precious and cherished.
So what did you do? Since the room was dark, I first turned on the lamps, exposed the rice huts, and swept away all the messy straw on the floor. So what happened in the end? What did this woman do when she found this precious coin? I called my friends and neighbors together and said: "Please rejoice with me. I have found the drachma I lost." We're happy to find just one of our lost autographs, but how happy must this woman be to find her wedding gift?
Now let's read our last verse together. "I tell you, in the same way, the angels of God will rejoice over one sinner who repents." For whom did the angels of God say that they rejoice? One who repents. In other words, a person who has returned to God. They say that God is pleased with each and every one of our friends who have come to worship God. Like this woman who found a precious coin. How much does Jesus value our friends? Jesus loved us so much that He died in our place of death and saved us.
By the way, look at the names of our classmates over there. Raise your hand in a class where at least one of your classmates doesn't show up. How would you feel about Jesus, who loves his friends equally? You must be more sad than this woman when she lost her precious coin than when she lost her friends autograph. What should our friends do now? Should I just look at these friends and do it without knowing it? Jesus died on the cross for us, and we are going to bring these friends to church for Jesus. Let's learn English praise next week, join us at the friend invitation party in the last week of October. Jesus will be very pleased.
Let's pray together. Jesus, who loved us, died on the cross and rose again, thank you for loving and caring for us. Our classmates and non-believers who haven't been able to come out, learn English praise next week, and be sure to bring them to a friend invitation party. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
