Psalm 91:13 Press and live
"Whoever believes in Jesus, believes in God, is he strong or weak?"
I don't know how anyone will answer this question like this. "Those who believe in Jesus are neither strong nor weak, but very strong people."
The meaning of these words is slightly different depending on the situation, but those who believe in Jesus seem to be the weakest people in the world, but they are actually the strongest people in the world.
Because, as history proves, Christians do not give in despite the terrible persecution and tribulation, and when you see that they steadfastly kept their faith, you can see that they are not easy opponents.
The people of the world are anxious and afraid when problems come, but those who believe in God say, "Now is what is coming!" Rather, they conquer the problem and enjoy the joy of victory.
People around the world say, "Oh, be afraid!" when a ghost approaches. And they run away from Honbi Baeksan, but those who believe in our God say, "Devil, in the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to go away!" and boldly cry out.
People in the world are pressed by the environment when the environment is bad, and it is easy to despair and give up because of the environment.
In other words, the people of the world live under the influence of the devil, problems, and circumstances, but those who believe in Jesus are people who live under the pressure of the devil, problems, and bad circumstances.
So Christians can always rejoice, always be thankful, and always be happy. The joy and happiness of you and me today depends on whether you live under pressure or live under pressure.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Bible says, “Many afflictions are with the righteous” (Psalm 34:19). If believing in God is to be crushed by suffering, tormented, and then to perish, who will believe in God?
But keep in mind. God's people "prosper in all things and live in strength as the soul prospers." (3 John 1:2) Not just because there are no problems, no tribulation, or because the circumstances are favorable, but because when troubles come, even when hardships come, even when bad circumstances come, we overcome them all and overcome them, so that our souls will prosper, and we will be in good health it's going to happen
Look at the apostle Paul. He was beaten five times with the 39 lashes that are usually beaten by death row inmates, three times with clubs, one with stones and nearly to death, dangers from rivers, dangers from the sea, dangers from the wilderness, dangers from robbers, dangers from our own people, falsehoods. My brother was in danger. And sometimes it was cold and hungry. (2 Corinthians 11:24-27)
But he did not succumb or succumb to these things. Because of these things, he did not resent or give up because his mission was too difficult. Rather, he was a person who was victorious by treading on the terrible persecution and tribulation that was approaching him.
That is why he was a great apostle, a great example of faith, and a great senior in the faith who left a precious legacy for me and you.
One day, the ship going to Rome was wrecked, and the weather was cold and raining, so Paul and several others were basking in the fire. But when Paul put a branch of a tree into the fire, the heat caused a viper attached to the tree to jump out and bite Paul's hand.
People who witnessed this scene said, "Oh, it's a big deal. Paul is going to die soon!" But Paul calmly threw the viper into the fire.
People were now waiting for Paul to suddenly fall down and die, but Paul was not hurt in the slightest. Because he was a person who lived on a viper even when it came to him.
Ordinary people tremble when bitten by a viper and decide that they will die soon, but Paul was a person who calmly shakes off even the viper that bit him.
Regarding this, the Bible says: “And these signs will follow those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons, and they will take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them.” (Mark 16:17-18)
Everyone, if you live in this world, there are times when problems and tribulations like poisonous snakes come and bite you. But do not fuss at this time. Don't even think you're going to die soon.
Shake off the viper as calmly as Paul. And step on the viper in question and win. The Bible clearly says. “I have given you authority to trample serpents and scorpions, and to have control over all the power of the enemy, and no one will harm you. (Luke 10:19)
When I was in Korea, I often went up to Samgaksan to pray. But one day, while climbing a mountain road alone, my head suddenly became stiff and I looked around.
At that moment, I almost passed out. In the autumn season, poisonous vipers were staring at me with their heads raised. However, the number of vipers was at least a few hundred. And the venomous snakes surrounded me and were approaching to attack me.
"What the hell is this?" I woke up and it was a dream. After I had this dream, I asked God. "No, God, I prayed and slept for 5 hours before going to sleep, but Heaven can't show you, but what kind of swarming vipers do you show me? It's also trying to kill me, so what are you telling me to do with this?"
After I had this dream, I wiped my surprised heart and got up to read the Bible, and suddenly a bible verse caught my eye. This is the message of today's text. "You will tread on lions and serpents; you will trample young lions and serpents with your feet." (Psalm 91:13)
Ladies and gentlemen, just as tribulations and hardships, great and small, came to the Apostle Paul, and just as a viper approached and bit Paul, there are times when problems like numerous swarms of vipers come to me and you.
But don't worry, folks. Never be surprised. Don't be afraid. Casually press the viper in question with your feet.
The Bible never says believers should live under pressure, troubled, and stressed by problems. Rather, he tells me to live by stepping on the poisonous snake in question that presses on my heart.
Of course, there are times when it is difficult to solve a problem alone, there is no one to help, and as a human being, there will be times when your heart is pressed and frustrated. But when you are pressed like this, pray like David. “From the ends of the earth I will cry out to you when my heart is crushed; lead me to a rock that is higher than me.” (Psalm 61:2)
Ladies and gentlemen, David was a man after God and a man of faith that God praised. However, there were many difficult problems in his life as well.
How can David defeat the giant when he meets the fully-armed giant Goliath? How the hell can you beat him and win? Isn't that something that human strength cannot handle?
David cried out boldly when all the Israelites were trembling in front of the giant Goliath. "You come to me with a sword and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD God of hosts." (1 Samuel 17:45)
Obviously, David had less strength than Goliath, he was not armed, and he lacked combat experience. But David believed in the name of God. believed in the power of God. And he firmly believed that God was with him even in the valley of the shadow of death.
And he boldly went forward in faith and threw a stone at Goliath. And the stone hit Goliath exactly on the forehead. Then David ran to the fallen Goliath, hit him with his feet, and cut off his head.
At that moment, a shout rang out from the camp of Israel. The enemies fled hastily and fell under the feet of the Israeli soldiers. When David defeated Goliath, the Israeli soldiers also defeated the enemy and enjoyed victory.
Everyone, I want to ask you. Are you, like David, a person of faith who lives under Goliath? Or are you a weak person who trembles in front of Goliath and forgets all about God?
Everyone, while living in this foreign land, never be pressed by the approaching Goliath. Don't say "I can't". Don't give up saying "Now it's despair". Rather, in the name of the LORD of hosts, defeat Goliath and tread on him.
And give everyone courage. And enjoy victory together. And cry out like this "In You, we will crush our foes, and in Your name we will tread down those who rise up against us. (Psalm 44:5) "Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:57)
Folks, the Bible clearly states. “Children, you are of God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4) "For everyone who is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith." (1 John 5:4)
"In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world." (John 16:33) "In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." (Romans 8:37)
Ladies and gentlemen, we have Jesus in us who gives us victory. That Jesus is the One who triumphed over vipers, the devil, disease, poverty, and even death. And we too can live under the power of Jesus.
Therefore, wives, do not be overcome by the devil of unseen cares. Don't be overcome by the devil of stress and unhappiness. No matter how much you have a problem, hold it tight in the name of Jesus and live. Don't be defeated by problems, overcome problems with faith and win.
Husbands, don't be weighed down by money worries, job worries, or business worries. Do not be overwhelmed by various household affairs. Rather, tread on the challenges that come your way and keep moving forward.
Young people, don't ruin your life's dreams by being oppressed and captivated by your worries. Don't lose your goal and don't wander. In the name of Jesus Christ, press down on those worries today and tomorrow too, and unfold the brilliant dream God has given you.
Dear saints, do not be overcome by the devil of disease, the devil of poverty and curses. Don't be overwhelmed by negative and destructive bad thoughts. Do not be overcome by the devil of depression and frustration.
Rather, step on these things with your feet and shout, "I have won again!" I wish you this.
