Sermons for Preaching

I will boast in the Lord

Let them boast in the Lord (2 Corinthians 10:17-18)

Everyone likes to brag. Some brags are great to look at, and some brags are disgusting to hear. We have to be careful when we brag. Because there are times when I will hurt the other person's self-esteem without realizing it. It's not a bad thing to brag. Let Paul boast in the Lord! I encourage you to boast in the Lord.

What are you proud of in the Lord?

(1) It is to boast of the glory of God.

When the disciples of Jesus caught 153 fish, Lord! All glory went to Jesus. There are times when many people take God's blessings as their own merits and give thanks as the last form. They say thank you to God, but in reality they brag about themselves cleverly. In an interview in 1982, Bong-yeon Kim, the first-year home run king of professional baseball, confessed in an interview that he thanked his parents for giving him such a healthy body.

(2) Pride is not praising one's self, but the Lord's commendation (verse 18).

How strange would it be if he awarded him a plaque? It is natural for God to praise and reward us. When we brag, we should not brag about our own merits, but only glorify God.

Specifically, how did the apostle Paul boast in the Lord? In 2 Corinthians 12, the Apostle Paul's pride is recorded.

(1) I want only Christ to be honored in my body! He wanted only Jesus to be proud of through his life.

(3) The Apostle Paul boasted of the traces of Jesus' love. (2 Corinthians 11:23-27)

I have been toiled, imprisoned, beaten countless times that nearly killed me, five times minus one for forty, three times with a spear, one time with stones, three times the crisis of shipwreck, In addition to this, he confesses that he is in danger of sensitivity, danger of his fellow countrymen, danger of strangers, danger of false brothers, and that he has not slept many times and is often hungry and thirsty, hungry, cold and naked (2 Corinthians 11:23-27). Paul boasted of the traces of Jesus' love on his body. What traces do I have? Are you not confessing with your mouth that you love Jesus?

Where did you get the traces of Jesus love? Please be proud of the scar on your knee that tattered after praying for the rest of your life. Just open your mouth and be proud of Jesus! So, we have to live by hearing that this person is a Jesuit. Seeing that person makes me want to believe in Jesus too! I hope that you will be praised and praised by the world.

concluding remarks

When little ones have something better, they throw away the less good one without regret. At one time, even Paul was proud of the world. After meeting Jesus, he confesses that he considered the things that were good before him as feces. Which is better, Jesus or the world?

Arturo Toscanini was a famous Italian symphony conductor. I performed Beethoven's 9 Symphony with the Philadelphia Orchestra in Philadelphia. The performance was so majestic and moving that the audience's standing applause did not stop when the performance was over. Toscanini bowed again and again. As the applause and cheers of the audience continued, Tuscany said to them: “Ladies and gentlemen, I am nothing. Orchestra members are nothing. All thanks to Beethoven.” All the glory goes to Beethoven, who composed the song. So should we. I hope that you will be the ones who give the glory of all the blessings that happen to us to God.
