< Gracious Tabernacle Construction Process >
For the construction of the tabernacle, Moses recommended offerings and dedication (Ex. 35:4-19). An important principle to follow at that time is to donate voluntarily, not by force or compulsion. Hearing that counsel, the people voluntarily dedicate themselves, and it is truly moving to see their dedication. How were they committed? 1) I gave it with a willing heart (35:21). 2) Almost everyone did their best (35:22-29). 3) Special people were appointed to be dedicated to the construction of the tabernacle (35:30-35). 4) The offering was sufficient for all work (36:3-6).
Even though the people received the gifts from Moses and began to build the tabernacle, some people continued to bring gifts every morning with a willing heart (verse 3). Then the workers of the tabernacle stopped what they were doing and came to Moses and said, “Leader Moses! The people bring so many offerings that it is left to write. Please stop bringing them now (verses 4-5).” So, when Moses commanded that no more items be made for the tabernacle, the people stopped offering offerings (verse 6).
<If you are impressed, you will accept it>
More important than the church building itself is to build the church through a beautiful process according to God's will. So, rather than putting us to a test or insulting the church through church building, we need to deepen our faith and build a church that is praised and celebrated. So, how happy will God be?
Even when David was preparing to build the temple, the people rejoiced and did their best with joy (1 Chronicles 29:9-14). 2 Corinthians 9:7 says this: “Each one should do just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” How can you enjoy it? There must be enough justification to pay and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. God's work is inspired by God. If you are moved, you will bear it (Zechariah 4:6-7).
What kind of work happened when the tabernacle was completed with such devotion? The glory of Jehovah filled the tabernacle, and around the tabernacle, there was protection and guidance by the pillar of fire and cloud (Ex 40:34-38). It means that when you dedicate yourself to the holy work of God, you will be guided in the best way. God always rewards you for your dedication. The blessings of the saints who barely keep Sundays and those who dedicate themselves to each other cannot be the same.
When you give to God, don't expect to get something bigger by thinking of it as an investment. Having a little dedication and skepticism about our faith life because there is no reward is the same as suing God for the money we invested in. When giving, simply give with a grateful heart for what God has given you. When you return what was given to you with such a pure heart to God's holy work, God will be moved and you will receive the blessings of your future.
