Sermons for Preaching

If you believe the title, doubts will disappear.

Contents

Genesis 12:1-12 If you believe, your doubts will disappear.

When the situation became like this, the pastor became very confused and strange. But at this time, the wife next to the pastor said, “It was probably buried while praying for the saints.” There was no strange atmosphere in those words. And the pastor felt grateful to his wife. Everyone, if you believe, your doubts will disappear. My wife believes in the pastor, so even if the pastor's clothes are covered with rouge, she doesn't ask questions.

The opposite is also true. A husband called his wife at home in the middle of the night. However, it is 10 p.m. and my wife does not answer the phone. But my husband keeps calling me suspicious. Perhaps your wife thinks of going out to take out the trash or exercising or taking a bath before going to bed. Gentlemen, if you believe, you will not ask questions of doubt. However, if you do not believe, you will be questioned and questioned. In more severe cases, it can lead to disobedience, breaking the marital relationship and making the family unhappy.

In today's text, God spoke to Abraham. “Leave your country, your relatives, and your father’s house, and go to the land I will show you” (Genesis 12:1). Abraham believed in God. So I didn't ask these questions. “Where shall we go?” “What will happen if I leave?” “When shall we leave?” “Why should I leave?” “How much luggage should I bring?” “When will you be back?”

One day God spoke to Abraham again. “Abraham. Abraham. You shall slaughter your only son, your only son, Isaac, and offer it to me as a burnt offering.” Abraham, who received this command, did not ask such a question. "God! How do you kill your son?” "God! Change it and think about it. How do you put a knife to your 100-year-old son?” “Where do you kill me?” “Who do you kill with?” “What do you say to your wife?” “What do you say to Isaac and take him away?” “What do you do after you kill your son?”

Abraham had no doubts or questions of insecurity no matter what God said. Why? Because Abraham believed in God. Gentlemen, if you believe, you will not ask questions of doubt. If you believe it, you will not be questioned or questioned. We can obey God's commands because we believe in God as absolute.

The king of old was the absolute. When a king died, he said to his most trusted servant: “You are the most faithful god to me. i die today You must go first to the realm of death and pave the way for me.” At this king's command, the servant did not ask these questions. “Why do I have to die?” “What will you do after you die?” “Can’t we die after a while?” Without asking any of these questions, the servant drew his sword and immediately committed suicide. Because the king was absolute to his subjects.

The same is true. To Abraham, God was absolute. So Abraham obeyed God without question. Ladies and gentlemen, the God we believe in is absolute. We must not look down on God. When God tells us to keep the Sabbath, we must absolutely keep it. If God has said that tithes belong to God, tithes must be paid absolutely.

However, if you do not see God as the absolute, you will be asked these questions. “Why should I tithe?” “Why should we keep the Sabbath?” Of course, there are many answers to these doubtful questions in the Bible. However, if you do not believe in God as the absolute, there are many cases where you only ask these questionable questions when you read the Bible, and then you stop being tested.

In Mark 16:17-18, there are these words of Jesus. “And these signs will follow those who believe: In my name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they will pick up snakes, and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Mark 16:17-18)

Hearing these verses, these doubtful questions may arise. “No, Jesus! How can I get better if I believe in the Lord? Aren't you supposed to go to the hospital to get better?" Some of the people who ask these questions are quite knowledgeable or rational. They do not believe in God unless the rational answer they desire is given to these questions. Or, even if you believe in God, you do not believe in the God of healing who heals the sick.

But we can simply say, “Amen!” without questioning these words of the Lord. and I believe it. In a way, it seems like a fanatic. However, because we are fanatics, we do not blindly believe these words, but because we believe that the God we believe in is omnipotent and omnipotent, he says, “Amen!” is what you can do.

This is a story that occurred at a local maintenance meeting. All the townspeople gathered. And it was a place to discuss local affairs. The head of the town, the head of the village, the pastor and the monk also attended. Before the meal, the monk would pray first and the pastor would pray. The monk prayed in the Buddhist way and ended like this. “I pray in the name of Buddha and Jesus.” And finally said. “Nami-Amutabul! Amen!"

It was the pastor's turn to pray. The pastor had a problem. Because the monk prayed that way, it seemed to be polite for the pastor to pray that way too. But the pastor was adamant. “I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen!" And the pastor said to the gathered people: “Only God is absolute.”

Ladies and gentlemen, the God we believe in is absolute. He's not just a more powerful god compared to other gods. All gods in the world are creatures, but God is the Creator, the Almighty, and the Absolute. No other god in the world can compare to God. If the Absolute God does it, it will be done. In the presence of the absolute God, we do not quarrel. Before the Absolute God, we do not ask questions of doubt in vain.

Also, because the Word of God is reliable, it does not ask questions of doubt. The God we believe in is trustworthy. So what he says is credible without question. If you just do what God says, the results are sure to be good. Therefore, there is no need to ask ‘why?’ in front of him.

It was the time when Moses led the Israelites and spent 40 years in the wilderness. There was no water because it was an endless desert. I was on the verge of dying of thirst. Then God spoke to Moses. “Command the rock to bring water.” At this command of God, Moses did not ask these questions because he believed in God. “God, if I command the rock, will water come out? The rock won't even understand what I'm saying? And how does water come out of the rock? Wouldn't it be better to dig the land?"

But water came out of the rock. There was so much water that it was enough for millions of Israelites to drink. Moses did not question God, doubting that water would come out of the rock. Because the word of God is reliable. If you listen to those words, the results are definitely good.

See also Peter. When Peter first met Jesus, he tried to catch fish all night in the Sea of Galilee, but couldn't catch any. Then Jesus said to Peter:

“Go into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” In these words of Jesus, Peter did not ask such doubtful questions. "Jesus! Do you not know the fish of the Sea of Galilee? I can't catch fish in the depths on bright days like now."

Peter did not vomit Jesus' words. Because faith was born through hearing the words of Jesus. I realized that he wasn't the one to gossip about. Therefore, he had no question of doubt. He replied: "Jesus! I have toiled all night and caught nothing, but at the word I will let down my nets.”

And although Peter did not fit in rationally and experientially, he went into the depths and lowered his nets as Jesus had said. Then many fish were caught so that the nets were torn. It's double full. I obeyed the Word of the Absolute without questioning and voicing doubt, and the result was so good.

Gentlemen, it is clear why we should not question God's commands with doubts. Because God is absolute. Because if you listen to God's word and follow it, the results will be good. I pray that you will overcome your doubts while believing in God, and that good results will be achieved in this foreign land while obeying God's Word. I wish you more happiness.
