Early morning prayer on Thursday, June 30th

Psalm 112.

* It's raining these days, so the heat of early morning prayer is not the same as it used to be. The world is still in turmoil, and the Church is in a critical transition. Looking forward to the passion that wakes up the dawn of church leaders and people full of personal longing...

"Hallelujah. Blessed is the one who fears the Lord and takes delight in his commandments!” (Verse 1) Blessed. How great is our longing for happiness indeed. Especially, how strongly Christians who go to church long for the blessings of Almighty God like God. However, the negative perception of faith in ups and downs has become so strong that it is also difficult to seek blessings from the church and to share God's abundant blessings. However, the more I read the Word of God, the more I think that faith without experience and abundant knowledge about the blessings of the Lord is only a shell of faith with words and theories.

Today in verse 1 the psalmist proclaims in a clear and assertive tone. The blessings of the Lord are those who fear the Lord, and those who delight in obedience to the Lord's commandments and His word. saying that you fear the Lord. It is a core doctrine of God that appears frequently in the Bible, but its meaning is a bit difficult. In English, 敬畏 is fear, but in Chinese it has two meanings: respect and fear. Awe that runs through the Bible has rich meanings of longing, looking up, and total dependence. And as today's verse 1 says, the great joy in his commandments is also a characteristic of those who fear him.

Do you greatly enjoy God's Word and commandments? Specifically, how will this be implemented in our lives? We can recall the words of Jesus about the Beatitudes, which are called blessings. The eight characteristics of the blessed ones mentioned in Matthew 5 are as follows. The poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, and those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness. Eight blessings given to them: The kingdom of heaven is theirs, they will be comforted, they will inherit the earth, they will be satisfied, they will have mercy, they will see God, and they will be called the Son of God. You will receive, and the kingdom of heaven is yours, all in line with the blessing given to those who fear God mentioned in Psalm 112 today.

First, looking at verse 2, blessings come to his descendants. In verse 3, you will have wealth and riches, and you will be justified. If your descendants prosper and bring you wealth and riches, perhaps anyone in the world will be interested in you. Today's society is so engrossed in competition and goes crazy about education and English for a good university, isn't it in order to eventually acquire wealth and wealth and pass it on to future generations? However, God gave the answer to this thousands of years ago, and that is a life that fears the Lord. I never think this is an old-fashioned possible thing or metaphor. I am convinced that it is the truth among the unchanging truths not only in the 21st century but also for eternity in the future. Although we have not experienced them all, the more we accumulate our life experiences and the deeper our understanding of history and worldly wisdom, the stronger our confidence in God's mysterious providence for a God-fearing life.

Then, it is necessary to know and practice the life and character of those who fear Jehovah more specifically. According to verse 5, “the one who gives grace and lends free of charge”. Full of compassion and compassion, no matter how harsh the world is, he cries with those in need around him, is merciful, and is not stingy in sharing his time and wealth. There is one thing that should not be confused here. Just because you have a lot of compassion for others, it doesn't necessarily mean that you are weak or your judgment is clouded and you are not firm in what you are doing. In verse 6, he is not swayed by the odds and criticisms around him, and as in verse 7 he is “not afraid of ugly rumors”. That is, the heart is very strong. Why is he so strong and strong in heart that he is not shaken in the face of the winds of this world and the envy, criticism, and useless advice around him?

Conclude your speech. I would like to express today's verse by changing it to "If we share, we become eternal." What can we share? This is the answer I and each of you will get in prayer with God. Let's recall verses 2-3 again. Those who fear the Lord will be blessed with strong descendants, wealth and riches in their homes, and justice will stand forever.
