Jesus who gave everything (Luke 22:19-20)

Jesus gave it all (Luke 22:19-20)

Believing in Jesus is the same as knowing Jesus.

If you are a believer in Jesus, you should be able to tell them clearly when someone asks who Jesus is.

Before Jesus died on the cross, he gathered his disciples together and had his last supper.

“And he took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body given for you.

Do this in remembrance of me. And do the same with the cup after supper, saying,

This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”

Jesus gave His body and poured out all His blood to save us.

Is there anyone in this world who would give all of their body and blood for me?

That too for me, a sinner. Only Jesus gave Himself to save me from sin and death.

Jesus said, “This is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”

The Old Covenant speaks of atonement for sins through the blood of animals in the Old Testament era.

The new covenant refers to the atonement of sins through the redemptive blood that Jesus shed on the cross.

The blood of animals in the Old Testament sacrifice was a temporary covenant that could not completely atone for human sins.

The atoning blood that Jesus shed on the cross has the power to atone for all human sins forever.

While the Old Testament atoning sacrifice was a covenant for the Israelites, the New Covenant is an eternal covenant for all who believe in Jesus.

Therefore, everyone who believes in the atoning blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross for all my sins will be saved.

Jesus said, “This is my body given for you; do it in remembrance of me.

The communion service we participate in today has two meanings.

First, recovery. When I first realized the grace of the Atonement, I was very moved and thankful, but as time passes, I easily forget it.

If you forget the grace of the cross, your faith will fall to the ground. Therefore, through the sacrament

It is to have the opportunity to remember that grace again and restore faith anew.

Second, it is obedience. The life of a believer who has been redeemed by the blood of the cross is to imitate the life of Jesus.

Jesus said that if you would come after me, you must deny yourself and take up your cross.

Believers who live by remembering the grace of redemption on the cross surrender themselves to the Lord in order to save the souls of others.

This is the healthy and beautiful Christian life.

If you try to have only yourself with greed and selfishness, you will always live with hardship and difficulties.

And it hurts other people too. That

However, if you help others, share, give, and follow Jesus, you will always live a happy life without lack.

Acts 20:35, “I set an example for you in all things, that in this way toil, helping the weak,

And we must remember that the Lord Jesus Himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
