Live a “living together” not the title “Staying with”
Content □ Life of “staying” and “living together”
Genesis 5 tells the genealogy of the descendants of Seth, the descendants of the covenant. So, Genesis 5 is a genealogy of believers. However, if you look closely at the genealogy of people of faith, the genealogy of Seth's descendants is mainly filled with these things.
“○○ gave birth to ○○, and after giving birth to ○○, she lived for ○○○ years and died enjoying ○○○.”
But as for Enoch, “Enoch was 65 years old when he begot Methuselah, and after he begot Methuselah, he walked with God three hundred years and had children, and he lived 365 years of age” (verses 21-23). If you look at the genealogy of Seth's descendants, it is divided into two types of lives: “living together” and “living together.” Enoch lived a life of walking with God. However, the lives of the other three descendants were “living”. If you look at this, some of Seth's descendants lived a life of walking with God like Enoch, while others lived a life of “living” without walking with God. If you look at this, even among us Christians today, there are people who walk with God like Enoch, and there are people who just live in this world without walking with God. It is simply that there are people who just live in this world.
□ After giving birth to Methuselah
□ Living with God
To walk with God literally means to walk with God. Therefore, walking with God means living a life conscious of God every moment and having conversations with Him. It is a life lived by asking God. “God, how should I live? God, what should I do in this case? Like this, it refers to a life of living by asking the question, “What would the Lord have done?” rather than deciding everything on their own, making decisions with the Lord. It means living a life of close communion with the Lord within me. A person who walks with God is not an unusual life.
It's not about living a heroic life. Anyone who has served Jesus can live a life of walking with the Lord in their lives. Many people think of walking with God as being very lonely, lonely, without joy, and living in the wilderness. I think of it as a boring life, trudging along the desolate desert road with the Lord. However, a life that walks with God is, in a word, a life that enjoys God. It is a life that rejoices with God and rejoices in him.
Therefore, those who walk with God have spiritual joy that no one can taste, and there is warmth and comfort that no one can experience. Therefore, walking with God is not a battle against loneliness. More important than passion is having fun. Look at Peter. There was enthusiasm, but he fell easily. However, those who enjoy God do not fall easily because the joy is so great. Enjoy God. I hope this will be the quality of our five-ryun family's faith.
Then, when, under what circumstances and under what circumstances did Enoch live a life of walking with God?
“Walking with God and having children” means that he lived a life of walking with God while raising his children. Enoch lived a life of walking with God, not in the mountains, not in the monastery, but in everyday life. Enoch lived a life of walking with God, living in a world surrounded by ungodly people in an age filled with Cain's descendants. They lived a life of walking with God among those who ignored God, complained and resented God's truth and providence, and lived their lives according to their own lusts. (Jude 1:14-16) So, do not make excuses because of circumstances or because of your family. The Lord wants me and you to live a life of walking with God in a sinful world, in a crooked and rebellious world, and in the midst of the ungodly.
How many years did Enoch walk with God? After giving birth to Methuselah, Enoch walked with God for 300 years. He lived a life of walking with God consistently until the day that God called his soul. Why are there no ups and downs since the horse has been around for three hundred years? How many ups and downs are there in a day? But his faith did not waver. Just as Enoch lived a life of walking with God until God called his soul, I hope that all members of our five rings can keep faith and live a life of walking with God until they reach the finish line of life. .
□ Someone who pleases God
According to the Bible, Enoch did not make any achievements. Nor is it mentioned that Enoch was a good man. There is no record that he was a hero, built a castle like Cain, or did any great deeds. All he did was live a normal life and walk with God for 300 years. But the Bible evaluates him like this: "Before I was moved, I received evidence that he was pleasing to God." (Hebrews 11:5) The author of Hebrews says that Enoch was a man who pleased God. Who is one person? One who walks with God. Enoch lived a short but valuable and blessed life. Compared to the lifespan of people at that time, he lived 365 years, which is only one third of the lifespan of the people at that time. He became the first person to be taken out of the world without tasting death while living as a child.
