Acts of the Apostles (132) Leadership that shines in crisis (Acts 27:12-26)
< Saints who shine in crisis >
While the ship that was escorting Paul was staying at the port of Crete, Paul advised him not to go any further because the timing was not good, but the captain and the owner ignored his words and set the ship to Phoenics (verse 13). At that time, the ship was driven helplessly by the storm of Euragulo (verses 14-17). I couldn't bear it, so I even threw away the load and the equipment of the boat to make it lighter (verses 18-19).
After a few days of thick clouds and storms, without hope or eating for a long time, when everyone was in despair, Paul stood up and said: "Everyone! Rest in peace now.” Then he spoke words of comfort and hope (verses 21-26). At that time, Paul was neither a shipowner, nor a captain, nor a centurion, but a prisoner, but he became like a leader in the midst of a crisis.
< Leadership that shines in crisis >
When the Israelites sent 12 spies from the wilderness to the land of Canaan, 10 people came and said, “It was a big deal. When I spyed out, they were like the blacksmiths, and we were like grasshoppers.” Hearing this, the people wept all night and said, “I just came out of Egypt. Now I can’t even come or go.” Then Joshua and Caleb came out and cried out. "Go! You can take that land. If the Lord is pleased with us, he will give us the land. They are our food!”
Whenever we fight, we often say to the victorious opponent, “That person is my food!” Confess like this in front of such a problem. “The problem is my rice!” If other people are concerned about me in my troubles, say this. "It's okay. That is my rice!” The saints have two kinds of rice. One meal is ‘the word of God’. Just as a person needs to eat to live, the soul also needs to eat the Word of God to live. Another meal is 'Tribulation'. When tribulation comes, if you say, “You are my food!” and eat it, you will have spiritual energy and true leadership.
God sometimes allows tribulation, which is the food of the soul, in order to give the leader's blessing. So, if you have a problem, confess like this. "Ah! You got a table!” Say this when you are in great tribulation. "Ah! You got a big table!” Confess this if you are in an environment of despair. "Ah! You have received the sacramental feast!” Confess this in the circumstances of death. "Ah! You won the Sura Award!”
All the great forefathers of faith had such a belief. When Daniel fell into the lions' den, he would have praised God without fear when a lion appeared. "God! Thank you! Thank you for sending a messenger so that I will not be lonely here today.” Feeling such a spiritual energy, the hungry lion was afraid to attack, so that night Daniel prayed all night with the lion in the lion's den. If you go out with faith, nothing is impossible.
Sometimes God is silent during troubles and tribulations. Even then, be patient and do not lose faith. Just as you know the sun is there even when the sun is not shining, believe in God's love even when you do not feel God's love and believe that God is with you even when God is silent. Then, in the end, all problems will be solved like a thread. There is no human situation in this world that God's hand cannot solve.
God is the greatest designer. All history and human history are given in God's grand and good plan, and there are absolutely no mistakes or errors in God's plan. In the same way, the storm of life was accomplished in God's plan. Therefore, look at God's good hand and plan beyond the storm, and go out with an easy mind, show brilliant leadership in the midst of a crisis, and be reborn as a true leader in this age.
