Let's become praiseworthy saints (1 Thessalonians 1:2-4 / Romans 14:18)
In Romans 14:18 we read today, it says, “He who serves Christ pleases God, and is also praised by men.” The word praise is the Greek word dokimos, which means to be recognized. Let's take a brief look at the words of 1 Thessalonians 1:3 about what kind of life of faith we should live if we want to be a saint that pleases God and is recognized and praised by people.
First, there must be a work of faith in order to become a praiseworthy saint.
The word “history” here is not “history” used in the history of the world or the history of Korea, but “work” and “work” in English. If you look at the English Bibles, the history of faith is translated as work of faith or work produced by faith. To put it more simply, it is the work of faith. It is the result of faith. That is, when I believed in Jesus, my life was changed. I believed in Jesus and was healed. I believed in Jesus well, and God blessed me. That's right. If you believe in Jesus, something of God's work must happen. Believing in Jesus means that you have changed your personality.
Second, we can be praised saints only if we have hard work of love.
The word 'toil' is 'pokos' in the Greek, and it means 'hard work with great effort'. In other words, it means 'hard work, hard work, dedication, and sacrifice' enough to cause physical fatigue. Love without effort is candy. It means that no matter how much you say that you love with your lips, it is of no use if your devotion to the other person is not followed. That's right. True love requires hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. The love of God the Father who gave his only begotten Son to the point of suffering and death on the cross in order to save all mankind. And the Bible teaches us about the love of the Lord, who, in obedience to God the Father's will to save mankind, gave up equality with God and walked the path of suffering and death on the cross by wearing a lowly human body. What kind of life should we live if we, who have no choice but to die in our transgressions and sins, and fall into hell, wear the great love of the Father and the Son? Of course, shouldn't we also live a life of love and devotion?
Third, you must have the patience of hope to be praised.
Even the people of the world are ignoring frustration, trials, and hardships in this way, moving toward only hope, hope, and dreams, but I believe that people of faith who are with God and are helping should take the step of victory with greater faith. The question is, is there really hope for God in our hearts? is to do Our ancestors of faith in the past never gave up hope in the face of adversity and trials. Even in times of crisis, I always had hope. It was because they believed in the Almighty God who was working in them. I hope that you too, do not lose hope in any adversity, persevere, and go forward looking only at the Lord. If you do, I believe that the power of Almighty God to acknowledge and praise you will come and the hand of love will come upon you.
Dear brothers and sisters, I hope that you will become all the saints who please God and receive praise through your personality changed through the work of faith and your hard work and devotion of love for the Lord and the saints. Not only that, I pray that all the saints who are praised saying, 'You are our glory and joy,' through the hand of Almighty God and the hope for that kingdom of heaven, without being discouraged or afraid, even in the dark reality. bless you with
