Let's change the title environment. (John 2:1~11)
Contents
There is no place without problems where people live. In the world of the living, numerous problems such as money, health, business, the opposite sex, job, and family are piled up on top of each other. If you look at the text, you can see that there is a problem even in the house of a pleasant feast. It is because the wine, which plays an important role in the feast, has run out. The owner of the banquet house prepared the banquet with all his might and all his heart, but an unexpected and unexpected event made it a disaster.
But what is the problem? It's not about how we do things, it's about how we deal with problems when we encounter them. There are problems that humans can solve, and problems that humans cannot solve. We need to solve what humans can solve, but how we approach the problem we cannot solve is the problem.
For example, 5,000 people gathered in the wilderness of Bethsaida. But the 200 denarii is not worth it. Even if you have money, how can you get bread for 5,000 people at once from these beans? Depending on how you approach these difficulties and what kind of attitude you have, you are divided into those who believe and those who do not believe, those who have faith and those who do not believe, those who fail and those who succeed.
How can we solve the problems we face, change the environment and become victors? I hope that we can share the grace as we think together.
I. It is important to get to the heart of the problem and make the right choice.
It is very important that Jesus' first miracle begins with blessing the banquet house. Jesus is the One who gives rest to those who labor and are heavy laden and gives joy to those who suffer.
While we live in the world, even when we think of ourselves as being prosperous, there are times when we find ourselves lacking. In this way, when the world should be most happy, worries and worries can come, and the greatest difficulties can come on the best days. Indeed, there is no eternal satisfaction or complete happiness in this world.
That's right. On the outside, everything in this world looks rich, splendid, and beautiful, but on the inside, there is no real joy and joy like a banquet house where wine has run out. The happy smiles of the bride and groom are in the house, and the joyful laughter of the guests is overflowing here and there, but behind the scenes, there is a feeling of frustration and embarrassment of the owner who ran out of wine at the feast.
But the fact that we don't even realize that we don't have what we need in life, we just ignore it. The biggest problem is that we do not realize our spiritual problems today. Even though there is a sin problem, we do not realize it. Your faith is getting colder, but you don't realize it. It is not realizing that there is an evil habit that needs to be broken. The problem is that you do not know that you are ill even though you are ill.
The solution to a problem is to pinpoint the true nature of the problem. Also, how would you approach this problem? is the problem. However, we can see the mother of Jesus who made the wisest choice in the text. Jesus' mother took the matter to Jesus. How did Jesus solve this problem? Jesus did not have wine. Jesus doesn't even have money. This is not a matter of truth, it is a matter of reality. But here is the most important truth.
Jesus is the Creator God. He is the source of all things in the universe. Doesn't the creator of the world rule the world? Can't the maker of a car fix a broken car? How will God solve this problem? It is God's business. But coming to God with problems is our job.
II. When the core of the problem changes, the environment changes.
Verse 6 says, “According to custom, six stone jars carrying two or three barrels were placed. Jesus said to them, “Fill the jars with water.”
There is no effect without a cause. There are no coincidences in what God does. You have to face it that within every problem there is an inevitable reason why it should happen. The people of Israel are famous for being clean. They have a stone jar ready for water by the door. And be sure to wash your hands when you come in from outside. Even when going out and coming back in for a short time, you have to dip your fingertips in the water and then brush them off. This is consciousness. This is called an oath.
It is said that there are six jars of rites here. However, there was no water in the jar of the ritual. Courtesy is more important than wine. Discipline is a rule of faith. However, people did not know that the water had fallen on the jar of gyunyeol, but they knew that the wine needed for a person had run out. It is just as they are not interested in serving God, but only interested in grace and blessings. But grace and blessings are poured out by God after the vessel of faith is prepared.
What is the crux of the matter? The jar of disrespect is empty. It is not the grapes that come first, but the first thing to fill the jar with water. The first is to be interested in the will of God. “First, seek the kingdom and its righteousness. And all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). Filling the stone jar with water will solve the problem of wine. When the fundamental problem is solved, our environment changes.
Ⅲ. Faith and obedience change the environment.
We can see the beautiful faith and obedience of the servants in the text.
Verse 7 says, “They said, ‘Fill the jar with water.
“Filled to the brim” - Means complete obedience. speak faithfully
It means following the instructions. “Bring it to the banquet hall and they gave it to me.” They did not ask why Jesus said. Not asking why is faith and obedience.
We see here the servants' beautiful faith and thorough self-denial. You can discover the secret to being blessed. How hard is it for us to let go of our thoughts? How hard is it to call water wine? How hard is it to say white is red? How hard is it to admit that something doesn't make sense? However, the life of absolute faith and absolute obedience before God's absolute command changes the environment.
It is accompanied by qualitative as well as quantitative changes. Water turned into wine. He changed the location of the water in the jar outside the door to the wine on the table. You have changed the use of dirty handwashing water to drinking water. He changed the poverty that ran out of alcohol into abundant blessings filled with six jars. The Lord is a changer of circumstances.
